Christmas Cake and New Baby Pics

Hi everyone. I am armed with lots of pics so beware, lol. The first is the Christmas cake I made for my mum and then the rest are all the pics of the new baby. The cake may look gorgeous but it was an absolute nightmare. First, I had the oven a bit high so I had to cut the bits off that were slightly overdone. Next, I couldn't understand why the marzipan wasn't sticking...until I found the wee pot of apricot jam still unopened on the worktop, lol. So, I had to take all the marzipan off, spread the jam, roll out new marzipan and then ice and decorate...A sprinkling of edible glitter to finish.

Now, I would like to introduce Finlay. My cousin Ryan and his partner, Lisa's son. He was born on the 21st - 4 days late. He weighed just over 7lb and he is absolutely gorgeous.

I could've just cuddled him all day long but sadly... I had to come home again, lol.

Thanks for stopping by

Hello everyone. I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and got lots of wonderful goodies from Santa. I was thoroughly spoilt and had a really lovely time.

I should have came on here last Thursday to post this card but, as it always does, time ran away from me before Christmas and since then, I have just been too exhausted.

Anyway, we have a new challenge over at 3D Cards and the theme this time is 'Snowmen'. I needed something for Jack to give to his teacher so I got these instructions from here and made this wee cup and filled it with some of my favourite sweets - chocolate eclairs.

Gingerbread Cookies and Gift Box

Good Morning everyone. I hope you are keeping well (and warm). Is everyone organised for Christmas? Can you believe that I still have a card to make yet? I am the same evey year. I should just give up trying to be organised, lol.

I have just popped on to show the wee box of cookies that Steven took to nursery last week. He was suppose dto have his party yesterday but he didn't want to go. I think he may possibly have damaged his ear drums with all the screaming he does... he doesn't like loud music or any loud noise really - apart from his own voice,lol.

Tools: Score Board; Nesties; Cuttlebug;
Other: Ribbon from stash.

Challenges:
Winter Wonderland: Wrap It Up;
The Crazy Challenge: Let It Snow;
Papertake Weekly: Anything Goew;
Simon Says: Anything Goes;
Paper Play: Anything But A Card;
Allsorts: Anything Goes;
Crafty Emma's: Anything Goes.

Well, that's me. I am off to put my grandads wee tree down at the crematorium, then to gran's for lunch, pick up and drop mum and Jack off at Hairdressers and then hit the barbers with wee Steven. Also still have one thing to buy and do the grocery shopping, lol. You should see the state of this house too, lol.

Have a great day everyone

Hi everyone. How cold is it out there again today! I hope you are all set for the wee fat man in the red suit coming...because the way the weather is looking...nobody is going to be getting much more done this weekend, lol. I'm actually quite organised for a change...only a couple of bags of pressies to wrap, a few more still to buy and, y cards need a greeting stamped inside. Ok, I'm not as organised as I thought, lol.

Gingerbread House and Christmas Cake

Hi everyone. Just a wee post to show my college work. It was brilliant to be back last night after missing two weeks due to the weather. But, that's it now till 10th Jan! Anyway, this is what we made last night. The cake is very simple but, in my opinion, effective. I love the house and I plan to add some windows and doors and decorated it with sweets - with Steven's help of course. Will pop a photo on when we get round to it.

That's all from me tonight. I will be back tomorrow with another Fab n Funky challenge. We are a bit delayed this week but should have a new challenge tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by to look

Crafty Catz DT - Birthday Bear

Hello everyone. What an awful blogger I have been recently! First of all, can I apologise to the rest of the girls at Crafty Catz because I just realised today that I had forgotten to post my card - it must have slipped my mind because I was late with it and obviously thought it was done. So, I am sorry. I am still chasing my own tail this week, even though the schools and nurseries are back open (my youngest two were home all last week too because the school roof was damaged). I am SOOOO glad that its fixed, lol. Not so much Jack but Steven is VERY hard work! Thank you for all the lovely comments regarding sleep. I have managed to get some sleep but he is still playing up! Its Jack I really feel for because he has to share a room with him (going to buy him some ear plugs) and I'm not kidding!

Anyway, the theme this week at Crafty Catz is 'Birthday Bear' and we are sponsored once again by I did it creations. Again, a fab prize on offer and the DT were given some images to play with so here's mine.

Ingredients:
Image: I Did It Creations;
Medium: Promarkers;
Papers: Pink Parfait by Forever Friends;
Flowers: WOC;
Sentiment: PC;
Tools: Nesties and Cuttlebug;
Other: Ribbon (stash).

Challenges:
Cute Card Thursday: Floral Frenzy;
Stamp Something: December Digi Day;
Crafty Emma's: Anything BUT A Christmas Card.

Well, that's it from me today. Thanks for stopping by. See you all tomorrow (hopefully) with another card

3D Cards DT - Santa

Hello. Quick post from me today. Thanks to everyone for the kind comments on the no sleep situation. I didn't go back to sleep the other day...cleaned house instead, lol. The last 2 nights have been a bit better again so hopefully I will catch up on sleep, lol. I am way behind this week and this card should have been posted yesterday but, better late than never.

This one is for the new challenge over at 3D Cards Challenge and the theme this week is 'Santa'. I really enjoyed making this card. Maybe it was the new image or the great sketch or maybe both! I have taken two photos because the main one didn't show the sparkle on his beard and fur so... a close up of the image was needed!

Ingredients:
Image: Classic Santa by Whimsy Stamps;
Medium: Promarkers;
Papers: DCWV Christmas Stack;
Sentiment: Craftwork Cards;
Other: Ribbon (stash); Flatbacked Pearls (Kanban); Stickles (Silver); Glamour Dust.

Fab n Funky DT - Christmas for the Kids

Good morning everyone. I hope you are all well and staying warm. Or, at least feeling a lot better than I do,lol. Right now, I have the headache from H%$£ and am absolutely exhausted! Infact, as soon as I have posted this card, I am off for a snooze. My four year old has always been what some people would class "difficult"...SPOILT in my own professional opinion. And me, well, I am far from the most patient person...especially when I am not getting enough sleep!!! Steven never eats, sleeps or talks. He manages to survive on the least amount of sleep and food possible and this is probably the reason for the constant squealing (like a stuck pig) rather than talking. I think I can count on one hand the number of full nights sleep I have had in the past 4 years - honestly! So, last night, he says he's had enough tea...half an hour later he is squealing - he's hungry! reheat the dinner, feed him the whole lot and get ready for bed - whilst listening to him moaning and crying about going to grandads and his toy car keys that he can't find, etc, etc. He is obviously exhausted so, read his story and get him into bed - at roughly 8 o clock, possibly just before 8. Only to listen to him screaming for 3 hours... His bed is itchy, Jack's making the bunk beds move, he's too hot, he's too cold, he wants to go to grandads...need I go on??? He eventually falls asleep at about 11pm - you think that's it, don't you? NO...1 am - "MUM"! This went on for 3 hours and he finally drops off again at 4am - only to awaken again at 8.15am!!

Sorry for going on but I think I am seriously ready for the loony bin (mad house). And, there is no school today!!

Anyway, on a much happier note...It's Tuesday and time for a new challenge over at Fab n Funky. This weeks theme is 'Christmas for the Kids' and we have a fab sponsor again this week so be sure and stop by the challenge blog to check it out. The challenge will be posted a little later as we need to give all the girls time to sort out the winners of their blog candy. And don't forget to visit all the rest of the DT girls and see their fantastic work too.

Ingredients:
Image: We Made A Snowman by Softpecil;
Medium: Promarkers;
Papers: DCWV 'Winter' Scrapbook Kit in a Stack;
Sentiment: Craftwork Cards;
Other: ribbon and stickles from stash.

Challenges:
Sketch and Stash: Sketch;
A Spoonful Of Sugar: Christmas Card;
Creative Card Crew: Anything Goes;
Papertake Weekly: Red and Green must not be seen;
Passion for Promarkers: Anything Goes;
Crafts and Me: Moody Blues;
Simon Says: Christmas with NO red or green;
Cute Card Thursday: The Blues;
Delicious Doodles Challenge: Use a Digi;
Digital Tuesday: Baby, It's cold outside.

Right, I am off to watch a dvd and fall asleep! See you tomorrow for another DT card

A Wee Note

Hi everyone. I am posting this very quickly as I am running so behind with everything that i really shouldn't be on here at all. Did you all see Corrie last night? Oh My Word...but, will have to save that for another post.

As a member of a couple of design teams, I am aware that quite often, some old work is linked up to fit new/current challenges. This is why on all the challenges I work on, one of the rules is that 'only new work' should be submitted' this is to make it fair on all the people who take the time to make a card specifically for certain challenges.
However, I have only just realised that it may be possible that people are not actually backlinking! Last night, I started to write up this post (monday) when I was ready to upload my image, I couldn't find it on the pc so...I saved my post. This morning, I took a new photo of my card, added it to the saved post and published it...never realising that it still had yesterdays date on it!!

So, I apologise to everyone on the challenges I have entered. This was a genuine mistake. But, I just want to urge everyone to check the date in the post options before hitting publish

Thanks for stopping by. Off to see if it will let me fix the date now.

Hugs
Suzanne

A Couple of Challenges...

At last, lol. I managed to squeeze in a challenge card at the end of last week but this is the first chance I have had to post it. I loved this sketch when I saw it and I really wanted to use this new image which is from a set I won over at Sketch Saturday a few weeks back. The only problem here is that I'm not sure I like the end result. But, here it is anyway, lol.

Ingredients:
Image: A fantastic prize from Sketch Saturday Blog;
Medium: Promarkers;
Sentiment: Bits of Ivory Digi Tickets by Cuddly Buddly;
Papers: DCWV The Christmas Stack and some printed foil card from stash;
Flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts; Leaves from Hobbycraft;
Other: Stickles; Glamour Dust; Flatbacked Pearls from Kanban;
Frame: LOTV free template.

Challenges:
Simon Says Stamp: Domi's Fab Sketch;
Stamp Something: Christmas Colour Combo (red and green for me);
Allsorts: A Candle or other Light (candles on tree with pearls for the flame);
ABC Christmas Challenge: Y is for Yuletide (holly & berries; red & green; candles - I used all 3!);
Secret Crafter: Christmas;
A Spoonful of Sugar: Christmas Cards;
Passion For Promarkers: Anything Goes (mega Christmas Challenge);
Lollipop Crafts: Winter Theme.

Well, think that's about it for now. We have had awful weather again yesterday and school is closed AGAIN. Steven hasn't been to nursery for about a fortnight now and there was no college last week and there will be none tomorrow...just as well I went shopping with Mum on my own on Saturday or I would be driven mad, lol. It was a lovely stress free day as well!! Ok, I am off to finish my DT card for tomorrows challenge

Thanks for stopping by

LOTV Stamp Giveaway

Hello everyone. I hope you are all having a lovely weekend. I know I am. Yesterday afternoon, I went to see The Gruffalo with Wee Steven and although he finds it VERY difficult to sit still for more than five minutes at a time and the man in front was giving us some funny looks, we still thoroughly enjoyed it and are so looking forward to next month when we can see The Gruffalo's Child. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. I am also taking Jack with me next time because it is aimed at the whole family and was hilarious.

Then this afternoon, I was off to the cinema with my niece to see Alpha and Omega. Another lovely afternoon and another great watch.

Oh, and to top it all off, I switched the radio on this morning and there was a competition going on...yep, I won a family pass (6) to take the boat cruise to Santa's Secret Village at the Falkirk Wheel. I did say I was having a good weekend, lol

So, I thought it was a good time to share some of my happiness, lol. I bought this stamp at the SECC a couple of weeks ago and didn't realise that my sister had also bought it for me as a wee gift so...I thought I would give it away as a mini candy on here. I will also include some stamped images, a bit of ribbon and a few Christmas papers too. (I will get a photo up tomorrow or Monday).

All you have to do to enter is leave me a comment below and if you wouldn't mind, post it in your side bar. The draw will close at 6pm on 4th December and the winner will be announced shortly after.

Thanks for taking the time to look

Sunday 28 November 2010

Hello everyone. Hope you are all well and staying warm. What a huge amount of snow. I couldn't quite believe my eyes when I saw it all yesterday and then even more of it this morning and now...well, it's like a blizzard out there just now. If there had been any chance of getting my car out of the driveway today...It's gone, lol!

The one good thing about it though, is that we had a lovely time playing in it today. We made some snowmen and snow angels, had a snowball fight and the older two got a couple of snow baths, lol. Great fun!

No card today just a wee gift box I made to hold a few chocs. This was to give to my cousins partner last night at the baby shower. Since it would all be baby gifts, I thought it would be nice for the mum to get a wee thing too. I got the template and the inspiration for this wee gift bag from HERE. Please do go over and see the gorgeous cards this lady creates. Beautiful... and thank you so much for the idea for the gift bag, Lena Katrine.

Ingredients:
Papers: Antique by Fancy Pants;
Sentiment: PC Generated;
Flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts;
Other: Ribbon (stash) Flat backed Pearls ( Kanban).

Challenges:
Crafty Cardmakers: Spotlight on Containers and Fancy Envelopes;
Creative Card Crew: Not Another Card (Treat boxes and Goodie bags);
Papertake Weekly: Cut It Out;
Charisma Cardz: One for the Girls;
Crafty Purple Frog: Flowers;
For Fun Challenges: Anything Goes;
A Spoonful of Sugar: Anything Goes.

Well, that's it on the gift box side of things... did you all see the X Factor. I was really disappointed the last few weeks because people were going home who shouldn't have been. However, it seems that we may be getting somewhere at long last. I really do think that Matt is going to win it this time. The four left are all good singers but he is amazing!

Ok, I am going to bed now because I think tomorrow may be another long day...think the schools may be closed due to the weather and all 3 kids at home together never makes a good recipe, lol. Stay warm everyone and if you have to go out, be safe. I will leave you with pics of the snowman family...

Mum and Dad

Have no idea what Steven and Mikayla were doing with the carrots, lol.

If you look real close, you can see snowbaby here, lol

Fab n Funky DT - Go With The Flow

Hello everyone. A quick post from me today as I have so much to do and so little time to do it in, lol. I know I said last week that it was our birthday at Fab n Funky this week and it is but...we have decided to postpone the celebrations until next week. Some of us are really busy just now and just don't have the time and because we want it to be really fun and go without any problems, we are organising for next week. We will still have all the fabulous prizes on offer just a week later so make sure you don't miss out. Now, onto this weeks challenge and to fit in with all the DT, the theme this week is:

'Go With The Flow'

Which basically means anything you like. Please make any project you like as long as it is new and enter it to Mr Linky (if he is playing this week, lol) and you will be in with a chance to enter the challenge and win a fab surprise from Lou. As always, there is lots of fantastic inspiration from all the DT girls so be sure and check them all out.

Now, this card actually took me about 4 days to make. Every time I sat down to do it, something came up and I had to stop. So, it was originally going to be just a challenge card and then I realised it was Tuesday and I hadn't done my DT card for this week so...I made it into an easel card and added a decorated envelope to make it a bit more special. I got the tutorial for doing the envelope from Dawny Ps blog HERE. (Thanks Dawny). I have used my new image and papers and old punch, ribbon, lace and charm.

Do NOT laugh

Now, this was actually a lovely wee postbox when it was first made. However, air bubbles, heat and cake...not a good combination, lol. This is what was mafde tonight at college. Postman pat was to try and cheer Wee Steven up a bit because he is choked with the cold and not at his best. But, that went out the window when I got home and found out he had been a monster child once again!!

Crafty Catz DT - Get Well Soon

Hello everyone. I hope everyone is well and not suffering from this awful virus thingy which seems to be going about. My college tutor had it the other week and she said that it has taken about 2-3 weeks to get over it. Seems like a cold at first but then gets much worse. Yukk! Hope it stays away from me as I don't want it...Although, a few days in bed resting sounds bliss - yeah, right! Like that's gonna happen!!

Now, thanks to everyone who entered our challenge over at Crafty Catz last week. A fab amount of entries as always. And, before I get onto this weeks theme, I have a couple of bits and pieces to share. On a good note, we are delighted to be joined by Carlyann this week. You will know of Carly through her gorgeous bl0g and also from Charisma Cardz Challenge which she runs. Carly has agreed to join us as a new member of the DT. Which, brings me onto a rather sad note. Lindsey has decided to step down from the DT as she has too much going on at the moment. It is a great shame to lose Linds from the team as her cards are always gorgeous and she really does make me laugh however, I hope we will still see her in blogland.

So, the challenge...well, since Aunty Sue has been unwell for a few months now and it was her turn to choose the theme this week, we thought that we would have a theme of:

'Get Well Soon'

And, we thought that it would be really nice to send these cards off to Aunty Sue to give her a wee bit cheering up. That is not a requirement of the challenge this week, we just thought it would be nice so if you want to do this please email Carol for her snail mail address and she will forward your card to Sue. If not, just enter your card in linky as usual.

Our sponsor this week is Lisa Stampz. This is a new sponsor for us and hopefully, we will see them again. Lisa is very kindly offering one lucky winner 3 digi images of their choice. Lisa has also been generous enough to give the DT some images to use for their projects this week and this
is what lisa has to say
"If you are tired of same old digital stamps and want

original hand drawn, cute ones, make sure to visit Lia stampz blog.

Don't miss out on the discounts and offers and if you happen to drop by, leave a comment

for the chance to win a freebie."

So, here's my card and for more inspiration, hope over and check out the rest of the DT's fab work.

Ingredients:

Image: 'Froggy' digi stamp by Lisa Stampz;

Challenges:
Stamp With Fun: Square Cards;

Well, think that's everything. A long post but wanted to make sure I included all the important bits. Right, I am off to get ready now as I am taking Wee Steven to see The Gruffalo this afternoon and am really looking forward to it (just hope the snake isn't too lifelike as I have a phobia - aaarrrgggghhhh)

A couple of Awards...

And, a couple of apologies. I actually have 2 awards to post today and although I don't always pass these on when I get them, I do appreciate them very much and always post them on my blog. However, this time I have taken forever to do so. So, I am sorry to both the lovely people who thought to give them to me. I just haven't been organised recently but, I am getting back on track now and...better late than never, ehh1

So, the first one I received from my fabulous team mate Dianne way back on 20th October!

Dianne is lovely to work with and makes some fantastic cards and she very kindly passed this onto all her team mates at Crafty Catz. Thanks very much for thinking of us all, Dianne. The rules of this one are to say thank you and pass it to 5 friends. So, the five I chose for this one are:

1. Elaine
2. Janette
3. Mel
4. Lynne
5. Mandy

Ok, the next one was very kindly passed to me by Claire, who is a regular follower of my blog and leaves lovely comments quite often. Thanks very much to Claire for thinking of me, too.

Now, this one is apparently not just an award but a gift also. You need to tell 3 things about yourself, pass it on to 5 lucky friends and then, display it in your side bar linking back to the Digi's with Attitude challenge blog to claim your $5 gift certificate.
So, firstly, 3 things about me:

1. I am a very impatient, irritable, bad tempered person (yes, I am telling the truth - you all see my 'other' side, lol)

2. I am addicted to chocolate and fizzy juice

3. And, lastly, funny enough...I stopped smoking 2 years ago today!

Now, to pass it on

1. Lynne ( my mum)
2. Janette
3. Elaine
4. Mel
5. Mandy

Hope that doesn't seem like a copout passing both onto the same people but i want to show these people my thanks for their continued support to me since I started blogging.

Ok, I think I have finished now. I will be back tomorrow with my Crafty Catz DT card.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and any comments you may leave

'Twas The Night Before Christmas...

And not a creature was stirring...Not even a mouse! Just wanted to share the cake I made at College last night.

The wee rug and the folded over bit of the throw has a quilted effect. The cake board has been made to look like floorboards.

Cupcakes and Birthday Cakes

Hi everyone. Thought I would share a couple of pics of the cake I made for my friends wee girl the other day. I meant to do this over the weekend but it has been a mad house here because the flooring was being done in the boys bedroom. Back to a bit of normality now though.

This was the first mermaid I made which I was quite happy with for a first attempt. Then when I went to add to the cake...yes, you guessed it...it broke and I had to make another...

Which wouldn't go the way i wanted but, never mind, Sophie seemed quite pleased with her cake and that's all that matters.

These are the wee cupcakes I made.

And, these are the cupcakes Wee Steven made after waiting very patiently for me to finish with the icing so he could have his turn. Aren't they gorgeous.

Don't forget to enter my wee stamp giveaway in the post below.

Thanks for looking...I'll be back tomorrow with a challenge card - I hope,lol!
