Sketch and Stash

Hello everyone. I hope you are all well. Really horrible weather here once again. No snow today...just lots and lots of rain and wind - freezing! Anyway, only a week to go till the craft fair at the SECC - can't wait.

Anyway, my gran has bought some promarkers this week and was asking my mum to show her how to use them so I thought I'd have a wee shot with them too...it's been a while since I've done an image using them.

So, here's Daisy from Sugar Nellie coloured with Promarkers for clothes, grass and skin. I coloured her hair with Distress Inks, though. I have also added stickles to the flowers and leaves in her hair. The paper is Forever Friends - Pink Parfait. The cardstock is from my stash. The lace is from a wee knitting shop close to us. The ribbon slider is from Paper Mill shop in Livingston. Flowers been puched with usual retro flower punch and craftwork cards glossy paper. Added a spacer and mini brad from stash. Pearls and rub-on sentiment from stash too. Think thats the lot - at least I hope so!

A wee close up of the image.

I am entering this into the following challenges:

1. Sketch and Stash - Sketch and new papers
2. ABC - O is for One Paper
3. A Spoonful of Sugar - Distress Inks, Pearls and Glitter (used all three)
4. Paper Jewels - Cute and Girly (this is the blogs first challenge)

Think thats them all. I am off to watch Corrie now - sad, I know but needs must and I must find out what happened to Gail Pratts (oops, Platts) newest husband, lol. Thanks for taking the time to look. Please leave a comment if you stop by so I can return the visit.

Friday Sketchers

Hello everyone. It feels like ages since I last posted...much longer than a week. I think I spend far to much time blog-hopping and not enough time crafting!

Today, we have had lots of snow here. Got up this morning and the place was covered! It then started to rain this afternoon so we all were covered in horrible sluch on the way home from school. And, if it decides to be freezing temps tonight then we will be sliding all over the place tomorrow and lots of bruised bums if I know my lot, lol!

Anyway, this card is for my neighbours daughter. It's her birthday today and I only finished the card about an hour ago. I didn't want to give her one out of my box because she would probably have seen them all since she loves to look at what I've made. So I was determined to make her a new one. I also gave her a wee gift bag filled with lots of craft goodies to give her a chance to make her own cards - lots of card blanks, ribbons, gems, stickers, etc. She seemed to be really pleased and the bag is one that she can alter herself.

So, The image is Reflective by Elisabeth Bell for Sugar Nellie. I have coloured it with watercolour pencils and added some stickles and flower soft to it. The papers are my new Forever Friends ones. Card stock from stash. The sentiment is done on the Bug with oval Nesties and...lo and behold... a gold peel-off sticker!!! The printer decided to run out of ink tonight so these came in really handy. The flowers is one from my stash, then medium and small retro punched flowers and a flower brad in the centre. I have added lots of pink and frosted lace stickles to the flower. I also stitched round the image and the other strip of paper with my sewing machine!

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

1. Friday Sketchers - Fantastic Sketch
2. Stamp With Fun - Stitch
3. Lots To Do - Use a Machine (Bug and Sewing Machine)

Thanks for taking the time to look and if you have a minute please leave me a comment so I can return the visit

A Card At Last

Good morning everyone and I hope you are all well. This is another quicky post and an early one for me - especially on a school holiday, lol. I am off to visit the doctor with Wee Steven this morning - sore throat and really bad cough so thought I'd get it checked.

Anyway, onto the purpose of the post...This has been made for my daughter, Kimberley's birthday. She'll be 15 on the 6th March. As soon as I saw this Dancing Willow from the WOJ City Girls Collection, I knew I had to have it...it reminded me of Kimberley straight away...always all done up and full of life and of course...Gorgeous!

So...Willow has been coloured with Distress Inks, Copics and Watercolour Pencils. I have added stickles to her necklace and used to sparkly gems for the dangly bits on necklace and bracelet. The paper is a Nitwits download and the cardstock and ribbon are from my stash. I have also used my Martha Stewart Lace Doily border punch.

Now, I can ente rthis into a few challenges:

1. One Stop Craft - Sketch Challenge
2. Allsorts - 3,2,1 Recipe (3 flowers, 2 punched edges and 1 ribbon)
3 Cupcake Craft - Keep It Simple
4 Papertake Weekly - Check This Out (Checked DP)
5 ABC - O is for One Paper
6 My Time To craft - Green and One Other (pink)

That's about it - I think. Thanks for taking the time to look. Please leave me a comment if you stop by so I an return the visit.

Valentines Gift

Hi everyone. Much nicer weather this week - still chilly but at least dry and no sign of snow. This has been made for my son, Jack to give to his wee girlfriend for Valentines Day.

I used the birdhouse templated from Magnolia Ink magazine once again - I love this wee gift box and it is so easy to make. Filled with Cadburys Dairy Milk Miniatures this time. For the card, I used my circle scalloped Nesties and went for a shaped card - first time I've made one of these but you will all be seeing lots more because I love them - so cute and dinky, lol.

The sentiment was done on the pc. The papers are from Divine Digital and only cost me about £1.50 - what a bargain and they are gorgeous! The flowers are punched with small and medium retro punches from the desgn paper and cardstock. The lace is from my stash as are the gems and ribbon. I have also added a wee trim of lace to the bottom each side of the birdhouse roof.

I can enter this into quite a few challenges so... here goes:

1. Crafty Cardmakers - Digital Delights (sentiment and papers)
2. Cupcake Craft - Red and White all over
3. Stamp with Fun - Hearts (heart papers)
4. Creative Card Crew - Valentines
5. My Time To Craft - Hearts and Kisses
6. Stamp Something - Love Something
7. Stamping for the Weekend - Valentines Themed
8. Sweet Stop Sketches - Fantastic Sketch (card - certainly challenged me!)
9. Cute Card Thursday - In The Name of Love
10.Simon Says Stamp - What's Love Got To Do With It?
11.The Pink Elephant - Mushy Gushy Valentine
12. ABC - N is for New (papers)

Phew - Think that's the lot. I am never quite sure when combining that many challenges - but there are just so many brilliant ones out there that we all want to enter and so little time to do them all in that needs must, lol.

Thanks for taking the time to look. Please leave me a comment if you stop by - I love to read them and pay you a visit in return

Your Tweet

Hi everyone. Hope you are all well. I had a much better day today than I did yesterday - I can tell you. This gift set has been made for 3 challenges:

1. Sketch Saturday - Fab sketch by Ria
2. ABC - 'N' is for New
3. Cute Card Thursday - Spots and Dots.

I have used the same WOJ image as the last card again coloured with Twinkling H2Os, Copics and Watercolour Pencils. The papers are new digital ones from The Creative Cottage. The ribbon, button and brad are from my stash. The scalloped circles were done on the Bug using my Nesties. The sentiment is done on the pc. The birdhouse has been made using the template from the Christmas Magnolia magazine. It's been filled with some fudge.
Now, this has been made for my sister because she spent her whole day off driving me around yesterday. Do I have a story for you...

Yes...I can hear you all groan well, not any where near as loud as I groaned yesterday morning when my car started to belt smoke out from under the bonnet. I had only been to drop Jack off to school and back to my mums when it happened. Could smell a wee bit burning but thought it was just because I needed a bit of an oil top up! HA! Understatement of the year. I had a spare 5 minutes before leaving for school and thought I would do the oil but... couldn't get the bottle open so, shut the bonnet, jumped in and drove down to get Jack from mums and take himk to school...YES! YOu guessed it...I never put the oil filler cap backon before I drove off! Oill all over the engine and smoke everywhere.

So, stayed very calm and asked my sister to drive me back home and then follow the route I had taken to try and find the cap. Couldn't find it and suddenly remembered the snapping noise I had heard when driving off for the school! YEP...I had driven over it and crushed it to pieces. Now, you may well be having a good laugh and thinking that it couldn't get any worse...I spent the whole day phoning and visiting garages and parts dealers to get a price for having the engine cleaned and getting a replacement cap and being given the wrong part and being told the parts in and then told that it's not in, etc, etc. Eventually, at 4pm I managed to get one from the scrap dealers!!

The good part of this horrible story is that the cap only cost me £4 instead of £14 and...the Gunk I bought to clean my engine was only a fiver instead of the forty quid the garage wanted to do it!! Also, I will NEVER forget to put the cap back on again

Allsorts Week #37 - A Sketch

Hi everyone. I hope you are all well. I am much better today - just a wee bit of a sore throat now. I am most definitely cheered up too - I was the lucky winner of Paula's fab candy. I am delighted. Thanks Paula. Here's a wee pic of what I won.

Gorjuss, ehh!
Also, I know I posted this before but, I was also lucky enough to receive it again.

I have been presented with it from the lovely Rachel. I love to be given these - even if I am useless at passing them on, lol. I think that it lets you know that other people appreciate you. Thanks Rachel.

And at last, onto the card...

This one's been done following the brilliant sketch over at Allsorts this week where they are also having a DT call. I have used Willow with Flower Basket from Whiff of Joy Spring 2009 Stamp Kit. She has been coloured with Twinkling H2Os for her blouse, head and waistband, flowers and shoes. Watercolour pencils for her hair and basket. And, copics for her trousers and skin. The paper is a double-sided one from All My Memories. I used my mums new distressing tool for the first time - will need to add one to my wishlist (funny for someone who doesn't like distressing, ehh). The bit white cardstock has been through the Bug with the Stylised Flowers embossing folder and then I used crystal ice stickles over the embossed pattern and also round the punched flowers. I used pink stickles on her bracelet and round the pink flowers on the dp. The sentiment is also from WOJ. Brads from my stash.
Here's another pic because I can't decide which is the best, lol. Think this one shows all the sparkle better. Really pleased with the end result of this one.

OK. Think that's everything. Mum just told me that the gorgeous new City Girl stamps are on the WOJ website. Can't wait to get my paws on these wee darlins, lol.

Thanks for taking the time to look. Please leave me a wee comment so I can come and visit you.

Sketch and Stash

Hello everybody. Another quick post tonight. Still feel rubbish so going to have a bath and get into bed nice and early. Did manage to make a card this afternoon whilst Steven was at nursery - mainly so as not to fall asleep, lol!

This one follows that fab sketch over at the Sketch and Stash Challenge Blog. It can also be entered for Stamp Something Challenge where the theme is 'Delightfully Delicious' - how that cake looks, don't you think?- and, for the One Stop Craft Challenge whose theme is personal - I have used lots of green which is my brothers fav colour (Celtic fan). The image is a Duston Pike freebie and I have coloured it with copics. This is only the second time I have used them so don't look too closely. The circle and scalloped circle were cut on the Bug with Nesties. The papers are Basic Grey - Lemonade. Ribbon from my stash and sentiment on pc again. Sorry for the rubbish photos - can't get a decent one at all.

I have made this for my younger brother who has been given a promotion at work. Hope it's ok for him.

Thanks for taking the time to look. Don't forget to leave me a comment so I know you've been and I can return the visit.

Hugs
