Football Birthday Cakes

Back again. Two posts in one day - don't know what's wrong!! I wanted to show the birthday cakes that I made for my brother and his girlfriend. It will be my brothers 30th on Monday and Sarah's birthday on Friday but they will both be away because tomorrow they are off to Mexico for a week - lucky so and so's lol. So, we had their cakes tonight.

Now, I should really explain why one of the cakes has 'HUNKY' on it...When Jack was younger, he couldn't get the hang of saying 'Uncle Stephen'...It always came out 'Hunky Stevie'...and it stuck...we all call him 'Hunky' now, lol.

Now, I am off to get a good nights sleep before heading off to the SECC tomorrow for the Craft Fair. Thanks for taking the time to stop by

Spooky

I thought I would share a pic of Wee Steven in his Halloween costume. He didn't want to go to nursery on Tuesday because they had some Halloween decorations up and he said he was scared. However, this morning when I asked him if he wanted to wear his fancy dress costume to nursery...he was delighted! We didn't think we would be able to do anything on Sunday because of him being scared but it seems like we will be having a wee party after all now.

What do you think? I think he's very spooky. He didn't like looking in the mirror - got quite a fright, lol!

Thanks for looking. I will be back later with my Crafty Catz DT

3D Cards DT Card - Down in the Jungle

Morning everyone. Bit mad round here today. Trying to get DT cards done as well as 3 birthday cards and rather large football cake - don't ask, lol!!! Today is a new challenge over at 3D Cards and we are asking for

'Jungle Themed Projects'

Somehow, every time someone mentions the word 'jungle' I think of a song that my son Jack used to sing when he was younger. Jack was absolutely crazy about the Singing Kettle and one of the songs that they sung was 'Down in the jungle where nobody goes...Big Momma Rhino washing her clothes...Rubbadub here and rubbadub there that's how she washes her dirty clothes...' Now, you must go and look that one up and listen...believe me it will be stuck in your head all day, lol.
Anyway I got this stamp for Mothers Day , possibly 2 years ago, and I don't think that I have even used it yet. Terrible, I know. I love it but I'm not very sure when it comes to colouring animals. However, here goes:

Ingredients:

Image: Rory from Sugar Nellie;
Medium: Watercolour Pencils;
Papers: Nutmeg by Cosmo Cricket;
Ribbon: Stash
Sentiment: Papermania
.

Challenges:
The Sugar Bowl: Sketch/One for the Boys;
2 Sisters Challenge: Anything Goes;
Top Tip Tuesday: Anything Goes.
;
Crafty Purple Frog: Anything Goes;
One Stitch at a Time: All celebrations.

That's it for just now. I may come back later with Tuesday night college creations depending on time. Thanks for stopping by to visit

Fab n Funky DT - Clean and Simple

Good morning everyone. A quick post from me as I am off to meet my brother for breakfast this morning. This used to be quite a regular thing but I hardly ever see him now so I'm quite looking forward to it. After that, I have a funeral to get ready for - not looking forward to that at all. Anyway, Wednesday today and that means it's time for a new challenge over at Fab n Funky. A fantastic response to last weeks 'Halloween' theme so I am looking forward to seeing what you all come up with for this one...

'Clean & Simple'

A nice, easy one. Keep it nice and simple...no need for all those gorgeous embellishments that you normally put on. I find this one quite easy as I like to make CAS cards but I am sure that most of you will be sitting there with your fingers itching to use lots of ribbons, flowers, etc and...if you are anything like my mother when it comes to flowers...you may even be having withdrawal symptoms, lol

Ingredients:
Image: 'Back in 10' from Di's Digi Downloads;
Medium: Watercolour Pencils;
Papers: MME;
Sentiment: PC;
Oher: Card Candy from Craftwork Cards.

Challenges:
Stamp Something: October Digi Day;
Totally Papercrafts: Stick a Number On It ( sentiment);
Allsorts: Spots and Stripes (papers);
Crazy Challenges: Tons of Shapes (circles, squares, triangles).

Ok, I am off now. Thanks for taking the time to stop by. Please check out the rest of the DTs fab cards and I look forward to stopping in to see what you all ctreate this week

Crafty Catz DT - Colour Challenge

Hello everyone. Time for another challenge over at Crafty Catz again. We had lots of fab entries again last week and I am looking forward to seeing what you all come up with for Carol's colour challenge this week. So get your crafty hands moving because we want to see:

'Black, White & One Other'

That's it, you choose the third colour. Most of us on the design team seemed to go for red as the third colour and I imagine quite a few of you will too. Actually, I didn't think I was going to get this card done at all...but more of that in a minute.

Ingredients:
Image: Dancing Willow and Cool Oakley from Whiff of Joy;
Medium: Watercolour Pencils;
Papers:
Tools: Cuttlebug and Nesties:
Other: Pins from Tabbycrafts; Flat backed pearls from Kanban; Stickles.

Challenges:

Now, why I thought this card was never getting done...and this is quite a long one so I hope you have a seat and a cuppa, lol. Well, as usual, I left it till the last minute to get it done and when I did sit down and get started, my mum phoned and asked if I had been to check my sisters hamsters...she was away for the week and I had the lovely job of going to check the animals. So, at about 10.30pm, I headed off to get it over and done with...had Wee Steven in tow as he had had a nap during the day and was refusing to sleep - I thought he might fall asleep in the car. Four hamsters, plenty food and water...unfortunately, one seemed to be not very well. At first, i thought it was dead however, I managed to get it warm and moving a bit. So, I took it home to look after it. I think by the time I finally got everything sorted and the card done, it must have been about 12am - that'll teach me to be more organised in future. I had made an appointment for the vet but sadly, the wee thing died about 20 minutes before the appointment. So...that should be it...not our pet, not too emotional...no, we all found it quite sad..which results in some retail therapy ( unfortunately, not the crafty kind) AND...

Please meet 'Manny'. Our new addition to the family. Wee Steven chose his name... Handy Manny mad, lol.

That's it for today, I have an engagement party tonight and it will probably take me all day just figuring out what to wear...not sure anything fits anymore, lol.

Thanks for stopping by

Hello everyone. I am in an excellent mood tonight...I finally have internet - woohoo, lol. Believe it or not, I am at my mums just now so I am using hers but at least when I go home I will be able to do plenty of blog hopping, lol.

Today it's time for a new challenge over at Crafty Catz and Trish has set the theme of

'Nursery Rhyme or Song'

So, choose your favourite nursery rhyme or lullaby and get crafting. Lots of fabulous inspiration along with a gorgeous card from our wonderful sponsor for the week over on the challenge blog so make sure you stop by to check them all out.

I was a bit stumped by this one and in the end, I chose a lullaby. Now, for the life of me, I cannot sing but somehow, I always hummed along to this tune when getting the kids to sleep when they were younger...Hush little baby, don't say a word.

Bunny Rabbits and Carrot Cake

Hello everyone. I have managed to steal a minute on the computer at my mums before rush off to pick the kids up...busy, busy, busy, lol. I thought I would show you what I made at college last night just so you don't think I have disappeared or anything, lol. I also wanted to apologise for my lack of commenting and posting. I hope the rest of the girls on the DTs I am on are understanding. I will be back online properly by Friday, hopefully and will then manage my fair share of comments and will be back on track with my cards too. Sorry girls.

Ok, this week, we made carrot cake and added a wee bunny head and some wee carrots. We also made a wee pair of ballet shoes.

Thanks for taking the time to look

Crafty Catz Blog Hop Candy Winner

Good morning everyone. I hope you are all well. We had a fantastic response to our Blog Hop over at Crafty Catz last week and a big thank you to everyone who took the time to join us and to all who entered my wee candy. I will come back later today to post my card for this weeks challenge but I wanted to jump on now and show you all the cake I made at college the other day and also to tell you all who the winner of my wee candy is.

So, first of all, no laughing but...this is supposed to be Sooty and Sweep - you know the wee puppets that used to be on tv...but it looks a bit like something out of a horror show, lol..never mind, practise makes perfect - I hope.

And, next...I asked my mum to chose a number between 1 and 37, then I counted down my comments, excluding the girls from the Catz DT and any duplicates and the winner is...

No 21

which is

MEL

So, if you could email me your address, Mel, I will pop your candy in the post for you.

Thanks again to everyone who entered and for taking the time to stop by

We are celebrating our first birthday and would like to invite you to join us in the fun. The girls on the team have organised a fab blog hop with lots of fantastic sponsors and...on each of the DTs blogs, there will be a letter for you to collect to spell out a mystery word with a prize for the winner.Also, there may be some candy hidden along the way, too.

'BIRTHDAYS'

Your card must be a new one, and to keep it fair, only one entry each please. Enter your card on the challenge blog then hop round the DT's blogs and pick up your mystery letter, leaving a comment on each blog so as to be entered into any candy draws you may find.
