Sunday 28 November 2010

Hello everyone. Hope you are all well and staying warm. What a huge amount of snow. I couldn't quite believe my eyes when I saw it all yesterday and then even more of it this morning and now...well, it's like a blizzard out there just now. If there had been any chance of getting my car out of the driveway today...It's gone, lol!

The one good thing about it though, is that we had a lovely time playing in it today. We made some snowmen and snow angels, had a snowball fight and the older two got a couple of snow baths, lol. Great fun!

No card today just a wee gift box I made to hold a few chocs. This was to give to my cousins partner last night at the baby shower. Since it would all be baby gifts, I thought it would be nice for the mum to get a wee thing too. I got the template and the inspiration for this wee gift bag from HERE. Please do go over and see the gorgeous cards this lady creates. Beautiful... and thank you so much for the idea for the gift bag, Lena Katrine.

Ingredients:
Papers: Antique by Fancy Pants;
Sentiment: PC Generated;
Flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts;
Other: Ribbon (stash) Flat backed Pearls ( Kanban).

Challenges:
Crafty Cardmakers: Spotlight on Containers and Fancy Envelopes;
Creative Card Crew: Not Another Card (Treat boxes and Goodie bags);
Papertake Weekly: Cut It Out;
Charisma Cardz: One for the Girls;
Crafty Purple Frog: Flowers;
For Fun Challenges: Anything Goes;
A Spoonful of Sugar: Anything Goes.

Well, that's it on the gift box side of things... did you all see the X Factor. I was really disappointed the last few weeks because people were going home who shouldn't have been. However, it seems that we may be getting somewhere at long last. I really do think that Matt is going to win it this time. The four left are all good singers but he is amazing!

Ok, I am going to bed now because I think tomorrow may be another long day...think the schools may be closed due to the weather and all 3 kids at home together never makes a good recipe, lol. Stay warm everyone and if you have to go out, be safe. I will leave you with pics of the snowman family...

Mum and Dad

Have no idea what Steven and Mikayla were doing with the carrots, lol.

Fab prize on offer on the challenge blog and lots of gorgeous Christmassy inspiration from all the girls on the DT. We are all delighted this week to see Aunty Sue back with us and a lovely card she has this week too. So, please stop by and say hello to welcome her back. Ok, onto the card.

Fab n Funky DT - Go With The Flow

Hello everyone. A quick post from me today as I have so much to do and so little time to do it in, lol. I know I said last week that it was our birthday at Fab n Funky this week and it is but...we have decided to postpone the celebrations until next week. Some of us are really busy just now and just don't have the time and because we want it to be really fun and go without any problems, we are organising for next week. We will still have all the fabulous prizes on offer just a week later so make sure you don't miss out. Now, onto this weeks challenge and to fit in with all the DT, the theme this week is:

'Go With The Flow'

Which basically means anything you like. Please make any project you like as long as it is new and enter it to Mr Linky (if he is playing this week, lol) and you will be in with a chance to enter the challenge and win a fab surprise from Lou. As always, there is lots of fantastic inspiration from all the DT girls so be sure and check them all out.

Now, this card actually took me about 4 days to make. Every time I sat down to do it, something came up and I had to stop. So, it was originally going to be just a challenge card and then I realised it was Tuesday and I hadn't done my DT card for this week so...I made it into an easel card and added a decorated envelope to make it a bit more special. I got the tutorial for doing the envelope from Dawny Ps blog HERE. (Thanks Dawny). I have used my new image and papers and old punch, ribbon, lace and charm.

Ingredients:
Image: Toby Tumble Hello There by Cuddly Buddly;
Medium: Promarkers;
Papers: Large Snowflake by Pink Petticoat;
Sentiment: PC Generated;
Tools: Snowflake Punch;
Other: Ribbon, Lace and Charm from Stash.

Challenges:
Sweet Stampin: Sketch ( and birthday blog hop);
Passion for Promarkers: Old and New ( and a blog hop);
Paper Play: Let it Snow;
Stampin for the Weekend: Winter;
Totally Papercrafts: Snow and Snowflakes;
2 Sisiters Challenge: Snowflakes;
Allsorts: Lace, Ribbon and a Charm;
Craftyy Emmas: Lovely Lace;
Digital Tuesday: Let it Snow;
Delightful Challenges: Baby It's Cold Outside;
Totally Gorjuss: Not So Traditional;
Crafts and Me: White Christmas;
Simon Says: Let It Snow;
ABC Christmas: X is for Xmas;
Top Tip Tuseday: Layer upon Layer;
Pollycraft: Blue;
Crafty Cardmakers: Spotlight on Containers and Envelopes;
Pile It On: Winter Means.

Phew, that's it! So, much for being a quick post. It's gonna take ages to link all these challenges up, lol! There's so many fab challenges out there just now and not enough time to enter them all individually. Thanks for taking the time to look and don't forget to enter my mini LOTV Candy at the top of the page

Do NOT laugh

Now, this was actually a lovely wee postbox when it was first made. However, air bubbles, heat and cake...not a good combination, lol. This is what was mafde tonight at college. Postman pat was to try and cheer Wee Steven up a bit because he is choked with the cold and not at his best. But, that went out the window when I got home and found out he had been a monster child once again!!

Crafty Catz DT - Get Well Soon

Hello everyone. I hope everyone is well and not suffering from this awful virus thingy which seems to be going about. My college tutor had it the other week and she said that it has taken about 2-3 weeks to get over it. Seems like a cold at first but then gets much worse. Yukk! Hope it stays away from me as I don't want it...Although, a few days in bed resting sounds bliss - yeah, right! Like that's gonna happen!!

Now, thanks to everyone who entered our challenge over at Crafty Catz last week. A fab amount of entries as always. And, before I get onto this weeks theme, I have a couple of bits and pieces to share. On a good note, we are delighted to be joined by Carlyann this week. You will know of Carly through her gorgeous bl0g and also from Charisma Cardz Challenge which she runs. Carly has agreed to join us as a new member of the DT. Which, brings me onto a rather sad note. Lindsey has decided to step down from the DT as she has too much going on at the moment. It is a great shame to lose Linds from the team as her cards are always gorgeous and she really does make me laugh however, I hope we will still see her in blogland.

So, the challenge...well, since Aunty Sue has been unwell for a few months now and it was her turn to choose the theme this week, we thought that we would have a theme of:

'Get Well Soon'

And, we thought that it would be really nice to send these cards off to Aunty Sue to give her a wee bit cheering up. That is not a requirement of the challenge this week, we just thought it would be nice so if you want to do this please email Carol for her snail mail address and she will forward your card to Sue. If not, just enter your card in linky as usual.

Our sponsor this week is Lisa Stampz. This is a new sponsor for us and hopefully, we will see them again. Lisa is very kindly offering one lucky winner 3 digi images of their choice. Lisa has also been generous enough to give the DT some images to use for their projects this week and this
is what lisa has to say
"If you are tired of same old digital stamps and want

original hand drawn, cute ones, make sure to visit Lia stampz blog.

Don't miss out on the discounts and offers and if you happen to drop by, leave a comment

for the chance to win a freebie."

So, here's my card and for more inspiration, hope over and check out the rest of the DT's fab work.

Ingredients:

Image: 'Froggy' digi stamp by Lisa Stampz;
Medium: Promarkers;
Papers: Nanas Nursery by DCWV;
Sentiment: PC Generated;
Flowers: WOC, Hobbycrafts and RAK;
Tools: Nesties and Cuttlebug.

Challenges:
Stamp With Fun: Square Cards;
Papertake Weekly: Autumn Colours (orange and green);
Crafty Purple Frog: Flowers;
Create 4 Fun: Sketch;

Well, think that's everything. A long post but wanted to make sure I included all the important bits. Right, I am off to get ready now as I am taking Wee Steven to see The Gruffalo this afternoon and am really looking forward to it (just hope the snake isn't too lifelike as I have a phobia - aaarrrgggghhhh)

A couple of Awards...

And, a couple of apologies. I actually have 2 awards to post today and although I don't always pass these on when I get them, I do appreciate them very much and always post them on my blog. However, this time I have taken forever to do so. So, I am sorry to both the lovely people who thought to give them to me. I just haven't been organised recently but, I am getting back on track now and...better late than never, ehh1

So, the first one I received from my fabulous team mate Dianne way back on 20th October!

Dianne is lovely to work with and makes some fantastic cards and she very kindly passed this onto all her team mates at Crafty Catz. Thanks very much for thinking of us all, Dianne. The rules of this one are to say thank you and pass it to 5 friends. So, the five I chose for this one are:

1. Elaine
2. Janette
3. Mel
4. Lynne
5. Mandy

Ok, the next one was very kindly passed to me by Claire, who is a regular follower of my blog and leaves lovely comments quite often. Thanks very much to Claire for thinking of me, too.

Now, this one is apparently not just an award but a gift also. You need to tell 3 things about yourself, pass it on to 5 lucky friends and then, display it in your side bar linking back to the Digi's with Attitude challenge blog to claim your $5 gift certificate.
So, firstly, 3 things about me:

1. I am a very impatient, irritable, bad tempered person (yes, I am telling the truth - you all see my 'other' side, lol)

2. I am addicted to chocolate and fizzy juice

3. And, lastly, funny enough...I stopped smoking 2 years ago today!

Now, to pass it on

1. Lynne ( my mum)
2. Janette
3. Elaine
4. Mel
5. Mandy

Hope that doesn't seem like a copout passing both onto the same people but i want to show these people my thanks for their continued support to me since I started blogging.

Ok, I think I have finished now. I will be back tomorrow with my Crafty Catz DT card.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and any comments you may leave

'Twas The Night Before Christmas...

And not a creature was stirring...Not even a mouse! Just wanted to share the cake I made at College last night.

The wee rug and the folded over bit of the throw has a quilted effect. The cake board has been made to look like floorboards.

Cupcakes and Birthday Cakes

Hi everyone. Thought I would share a couple of pics of the cake I made for my friends wee girl the other day. I meant to do this over the weekend but it has been a mad house here because the flooring was being done in the boys bedroom. Back to a bit of normality now though.

This was the first mermaid I made which I was quite happy with for a first attempt. Then when I went to add to the cake...yes, you guessed it...it broke and I had to make another...

Which wouldn't go the way i wanted but, never mind, Sophie seemed quite pleased with her cake and that's all that matters.

These are the wee cupcakes I made.

And, these are the cupcakes Wee Steven made after waiting very patiently for me to finish with the icing so he could have his turn. Aren't they gorgeous.

Don't forget to enter my wee stamp giveaway in the post below.

Thanks for looking...I'll be back tomorrow with a challenge card - I hope,lol!

Yes you heard right. Now...Please STOP panicking...It's not as hard as it may seem...infact, it's rather de-stressing, lol.

So, new challenge over at Crafty Catz. My turn to choose the theme and I chose Paper Tearing! I would like to see your projects where you have had to tear your papers/cardstock up. Not just a tiny wee end but a great, big, massive tear. (I wonder if Lindseys kitchen could count as an entry, lol.)

We are lucky enough to be sponsored by Sew Many Cards this week who are very kindly offering one lucky winner 5 digi images of their choice. So, what are you waiting for? No time like the present!

'Teddy Bears'

And we are lucky enough to have a fantastic sponsor again...Hobby Paleis are a small up and coming webshop who are offering one lucky winner this fantastic prize to the value of about 10 euros...

Crafty Catz DT - Spots and Stripes

Hello everyone. That time of week again...a new challenge over at Crafty Catz. We are very lucky to be sponsored by Robyns Fetish Digital Stamps this week and Robyn is very kindly offering one lucky winner a prize of 5 digital stamps or digital paper packs of their choice. And, as you know, you have to be in it to win it so what are you waiting for? Oh, that's right...the theme for this weeks challenge has been chosen by Lindsey and she would like to see

'Spots and Stripes'

There you go, all the info you need and if you pop over to the challenge blog, you will get lots of fantastic inspiration too.

Last Saturday seen us at the SECC for the craft show. Now, I know lots of people usually come home with their bags over flowing and credit cards totally maxed out, lol but...I only bought a few stamps!!!! I had quite a nice day - except for the fact that it was sooo busy and couldn't get near much but, I just didn't see anything that I particularly 'HAD' to have. Unusual for me as I usually come home with lots...and then never use it, lol. I did forget to get my Glamour Dust which was a bit of a pain but never mind. Anyway, this is one of my new stamps.

Ingredients:
Image: Jolly Holly by Penny Johnson for Stampavie;
Medium: Promarkers;
Papers: Creative Imaginations;
Sentiment: Craftwork Cards;
Other: Glamour Dust, ribbon, bow and pearls from stash.

Challenges:
Sketch Saturday: Sketch;
Pollycraft: It's Chill Time;
Charisma Cardz: With Love @ Christmas;
ABC: G is for Glitter;
ABC Christmas Challenge: W is for Winter Wonderland;
Patties Creations: Christmas Card or Creation.

The wee treat box idea came from Wee Stevens kids lunch box at Dobbies yesterday. The sandwiches were ina wee box and I thought... I can use that as a template...and here you have it!

So, that's it for today. Looking forward to seeing what you all come up with this week. Thanks for stopping by.

Fab n Funky DT - Colour Challenge

Time for another new challenge over at Fab n Funky. I don't know where the week goes, I tell you. So, this week we are lucky enough to be sponsored by Softpencil who are offering a super prize for one lucky winner. The DT were very kindly given some images to used and some of us have used them but me being me... I forgot!! Not like me, ehh! Anyway, this week is a colour challenge and we would like to see:

'Pink, Lime & Kraft'

When I first seen this I didn't have a clue what I was going to do. Not my usual colours at all and for some reason I couldn't stop thinking Christmas...no idea why - they are hardly Christmas colours, lol. However, there is a photo also for some inspiration but I had forgotten about that too when I sat down to make my card. So, you can go with the colour combo, use the photo for inspiration OR, if you are feeling really brave you can use the colours and the photo together. I actually used both but...it was by total accident, lol. Now, enough of my waffling.

Ingredients:
Image: Lily of the Valley;
Medium: Promarkers;
Papers: ;
Flowers: Prima; Wild Orchid;
Other: Glamour Dust.

Challenges:
Sketch and Stash: Fantastic Sketch;
A Spoonful of Sugar: Relish to Embellish;
ABC: G is for Glitter;
Fussy and Fancy: Winter Wonderland;
Stamp Something: With Some Pink;
One Stop Craft: Anything Goes;
Top Tip Tuesday: Christmas Inspired;
One Stitch at a Time: Christmas;
Pile It On: Beary Good Friends;

You will notice that I haven't put a sentiment on...off to fix it now and it will read 'Have a BEARY good Christmas'.

Thanks for stopping by.

Cakes, Cakes and More Cakes

Quick post from me tonight. Thought I'd share some cakes again. Last week at college, we decorated some muffins for Halloween. Unfortunately, Steven got hold of the Devil before I managed to get a photograph but here is the ghost and the pumpkin - sorry about the poor pics.

Also, here is the birthday cake that we made for my dads birthday today. This was a nightmare from start to finish...first, the roll out icing broke as I was putting it on so I went off to get some more late this afternoon...to save time, I bought the one that is already rolled - only to find when I opened it that it was broken too!!! Then, the royal icing for the music script wouldn't go black, just a horrible grey colour...GRRR! Anyway, my dad seemed quite happy with it, the kids loved it and it tasted gorgeous, lol.

That's it tonight. I am off to bed because I am shattered or, at least I am as soon as the glamour dust dries on my DT card for tomorrow and I can take a photo of it, lol.
