Fireman Sam meets A Spoonful of Sugar and ABC

Hi everyone. Hope you are all well. I haven't had much time for crafting this past week again. We went to Blackness Castle the other day. It was really nice but my legs are killing me, lol! Yesterday we were off to Almond Valley Heritage Centre (Mill Farm) in Livingston. My kids loe it there. It was a bit wet and windy though so we didn't stay quite as long as we normally would have. This time, the big attraction for my lot was the ducks having swimming lessons. There was a wee area fenced off and they had set out a deck chair and parasol (the staff - not the ducks) and there was a paddling pool for them to get used to the water. It was dead cute.

Anyway, onto the card. I have made this card for Wee Steven's 3rd birthday. and have followed the sketch over on A Spoonful of Sugar. I got the picture from a free colouring site and then resized it a bit with photoshop. I have at last tried my hand at something other than my watercolour pencils, lol! I have used promarkers for this one. And...I quite enjoyed it! The circle is mirri card cut on the Bug with Nesties and then put through the Bug again with the 'Happy Birthday Text' embossing folder. All the cardstock used is from my stash. It took me ages to do the wee fire engines. Using the Bug again, I cut out 3 white, 3 blue, 3 Red and then 3 black. Next, I used diamond glaze and made them up by adding all the different wee bits. I have also added diamond glaze to his hat but I am not sure if you can see it or not in the photo. I would also like to enter this into the ABC challenge where the theme this week is 'Yellow'- use yellow on your cards.

My mum says that she doesn't know if I can use this or not due to copyright but, since this was a free colouring sheet and I am not selling it then I hope I am ok. If it can't be used in the challenge though then I'll understand. A fantastic sketch all the same, lol.
Really enjoyed making this one. I think it's a mixture of finally having a decent place to craft - got myself a desk during the week - and the fact that I know Wee Steven will love it.

Hope you like it

Simon Says, Papertake and Spoonful of Sugar

Hi everyone! I have finally managed to get a card done. At last, I hear you say. I thought I was never going to get it done though...everytime I sat down, I realised I had forgotten to bring something else downstairs with me. It is no good having my stuff upstairs and my table downstairs - something needs to be done...And, I'm working on it, lol!

Anyway, I have managed to combine 3 challenges with this one so I am delighted. I started off with the fabulous sketch which Dawny P has given us to follow over at Simon Says Challenge-she is guest designer this week. Then I thought I would also use one of the colour combos which Dawny has set this week over at Papertake Weekly. I have gone for pink and green...although, the pink on Tilda's dress is a bit bright but never mind! And, then I realised that it also fitted with A Spoonful of Sugar Challenge as I have used a swirly flower paper and the theme there this week is Swirls.

I have coloured Tilda with watercolour pencils (new Tilda but same old medium, lol). The CS is from my stash as are the wee green flowers and the gems. The papers are 'Rayher' - design by Celina Di Pisa. And, I have used my new Martha Stewart punch on the bottom of the paper and image.

Quite pleased with this one. Hope you like it to.

Shopping

Good morning everyone! Looks like it might be a bit nicer today - hopefully that rain will stay away for a wee while anyway. I don't have anything to post today as I have been quite busy in the house. Thought I would teach myself how to plaster! HA - was I having a giraffe or what, lol!!!
Anyway, I've given up and am leaving it to the expert. So, today I am going to take my mother shopping to her favourite craft shop. I will need to get off early though as I am working tonight and she spends so long talking to the staff there that I might be late back if I'm not careful. So, I will go and do some shopping and then I will hopefully be back with a card to show tomorrow

Sketch Saturday #60

Hello everyone! Hope you are all well. I don't know how but I never seem to get many cards made during the school holidays. I think thats because I spent most of the day feeding the kids and cleaning up after them, lol!
Yesterday I thought it would be a good idea to take them to the park with their bikes. Never again! All they did was moan that their legs and feet were sore and bicker with each other... and of course, I got soaked too! I do have to say though that my legs and my shoulders are a bit achy today, lol! It must have been all the pushing the buggy up the hills!

Anyway, this one is for Sketch Saturday#60 - another fantastic sketch to help inspire you. It has certainly inspired me. I have had no desire to craft whatsoever! I have no idea what's wrong with me...I just can't get myself going properly! I have decided that it must be the because the kids are all at home and I can't get a chance to relax properly. So, I am going to try and make at least one a week just so I don't lose the ability altogether, lol!

I have used a Whiff of Joy stamp - Herb with Christmas Pudding - and coloured him with watercolour pencils and lots of stickles. The backing paper is Doodlebug. The CS is from my stash and I have put it through the bug with the Snowflakes embossing folder. Ribbon is from my Stash as are the wee pearls. The sentiment is from Craftwork Cards - had it for ages. I have mounted it onto circles cut with Nesties on the bug.

I am really pleased with the way this has turned out. I didn't like it when it was first coming together but I do now.

Hope you like it

Papertake Weekly

Hello everyone! Hope you are all well. This weather is doing my head in. Every time I put a washing out...It pours down! Just going to give up and use the tumble, lol!
On Tuesday, we were finishing laying laminate flooring in the kitchen and I was listening to the radio (a first for me in the house - only usually listen to the radio in the car)...I heard a competition for Harry Potter cinema tickets so I entered and guess what...I won a pass for a family of four! I was so chuffed! And, the film was brilliant. Well, I've had the radio on in the kitchen since then, lol! And, I have just won a pair of tickets to go and see Simple Minds! I don't know where my luck is coming from just now but it is more than welcome to stay, lol!

Anyway, you'll all be sick of listening to me going on so... if you're still with me...This one is for Papertake Weekly challenge which is another of the very talented and wonderfully funny Dawny P's sketches.

Definitely not the best photo but...never mind! The image is coloured with watercolour and inktense pencils, Twinkling H2O's and has lots of red, green and silver stickles added to it.. The papers are a double-sided sheet from Creative Imaginations but there is no name on it! The CS is rom my stash.
I added the stickles as I thought it was quite dark and needed brightened up a bit - a bit o' bling, lol!
I am also entering this into The Cute Card Thursday Challenge which is 'Christmas in July' this week.
Hope you like it

Hugs

3 Challenge Combo

Hello everyone. I can't believe it's been nearly 2 weeks since I posted anything! After going through a couple of weeks where I had managed to do lots of crafting and post something new nearly every day, I then couldn't make a card for the life of me! I don't know what was wrong but I just couldn't do it. I tried playing with my papers, looking at everyone's blogs, colouring some images... I even started to look through my magazines but still couldn't come up with anything! Last night though, I had no choice but to make a card... It was either make it no matter what it looked like or buy one from Tesco, lol! It's Steven's 30th today and I had no cards made for him. The kids hadn't even made any! I swear that next year I am going to make all my cards at least one month earlier than I actually need them!

Anyway, enough of my waffling on. Here's what I came up with...

The image is a digital download from Sketching Stamper (I think), coloured with watercolour pencils. The sentiment is from a Daisy and Dandelion set - I just inked up the bit I wanted and stamped it a bit at a time. CS is from my stash. Paper is from a Nitwit Collections download. The flowers are 3d glitter ones from Hobbycraft. Not the best photo going but the best I could get.
After colouring my image, I looked around the challenges for a sketch I liked and thought I'd give the one on Friday Sketchers a go - not played along there for a while. I would also like to enter this into A Spoonful of Sugar which is 'Hearts' this week and One Stop Craft Challenge which is 'Furry Things'.
So... after all this time of not being able to do anything...I've got a birthday card and it qualifies for 3 challenges...not bad, ehh! Lol!

Hope you like it

Happy Birthday, Buddy!

This card has been made for Buddy over at 'Chez Kath'. Buddy celbrated his 3rd birthday on Tuesday and since that means its his 21st in our years, he has decided to celebrate big style, lol! 'Buddy' has set us all a challenge. He wants us to make him a birthday card and enter it on this post to be in with a chance to win some of the Cubbyhole Queen's wonderful stash, lol!

I would also like to enter this one into Papertake Weekly which is another fantastic sketch from the fabulous Dawny P.

For Buddy's card, I have used a digital image by Doodle Palace coloured with watercolour pencils. Can you believe it...I have just checked my emails to see where this image is from and realised it's called 'Buddy the Puppy'! I couldn't do that again if I tried, lol!!

The paper is one that I have had for a long time - probably since my own black lab was a pup and I thought I would do lots of scrapb ooking but never did, lol! CS is from my stash. The ball and bone stickers are from an embellishment pack called Dog - same story as the paper, lol!

I have also carried Dawny's sketch over to the inside and used more of the paper and stickers here, too.

Wee Steven wanted to make one for the Budster, too!

Hope you like them, Buddy and hope you had a lovely day yesterday!
Hope everyone else likes it too.
