Stunning...and a card!

Good evening all. This is a late post because I had to watch the X Factor first. I know I said I wasn't watching it anymore but I am totally hooked...I have to see who wins. And...after all the moaning about the awful twins...I felt a bit sorry for them last week, but...the show must go on.
Anyway, the X Factor was also late because I had to pick up Kim from a birthday party. Which, of course was another waste of time because she is now off to sleep over at her friends house. She looked absolutely gorgeous tonight before she left...even if she was a bit too grown up for me, lol.. It's hard to see them grow up, ehh...I am really proud of her and think she's beautiful but it's all a bit scary too! But, enough of my sentimental rubbish. I tried to get a photo but I am useless with a camera so here's one or two I thought were good.

What a stunner! Anway, onto the card. This one is for four challenges. I started off with the sketch from Martine and then the others just sort of fell into place. I love that - don't you? They are:

1. Just Magnolia - Sketch;
2. Charisma Cardz - Anything Christmas;
3. Papertake Weekly - Christmas Cracker;
4. Crazy 4 Challenges - Punch Happy.

The image is a Christmas Tilda and is coloured with Cosmic Shimmer paints and watercolour pencils with a wee bit of red stickles added. I have cut her out and sat her on the bench and then mounted both onto foam pads. The papers are Making Memories Fa La La collection - Poinsettia Stripe. The cream card was from my stash and I ran both pieces through the Bug with the Textile ebossing folder. The brads are from my stash. The punched strip is done with a Martha Stewart Lace Doily punch. The wee sentiment tag is a Studio G stamp set. Poinsettias are from Craftwork Cards, the spacers from my stash and I have added green stickles to the brads in the centre.

Thanks for taking the time to look.

Tuesday Taggers

Hello everyone. Just back from a trip to Jacks school to enjoy the winter fayre. After spending the last few days making goodies for it, I wanted to enjoy the fun too, lol! Yesterday I spent 3 hours in the kitchen making fairy cakes for the home baking stall...Face cloth cupcakes the other day....and, yesterday, some Christmas candles.

For these, I used a Penny Black stamp from the Christmas Critters clear stamp set. I stamped the image onto tissue paper and coloured with a mix of watercolour and inktense pencils. Next, I cut round the image, placed on candle and wrapped in some white baking sheet...then heat embossed it till the colour changed. I added some stickles, wrapped in clear cellophane and added some christmas parcel ribbon.

Made four for the school fayre and also made three for Wee Steven to give his nursery teachers at the end of term.
I am entering these into Tuesday Taggers challenge where the theme this week is 'Festival of Light'.

Hope you like them and thanks for taking the time to look.

Chocolate Box

Hi everyone. I hope you are all well and staying cozy and warm in this horrible wet weather. Today, I have something to show you that I was playing around with yesterday. However, I cannot take the credit for this idea. Firstly, whilst blog hopping yesterday, I came across THIS blog and saw this wonderful idea. As you will see when you hop over, Kirsten makes the most beautiful cards and boxes. They look absolutely gorgeous. Not only that, there are tutorials and templates there which Kirsten has shared so...I just had to have a wee shot.

Now, I cannot say that mine are anywhere near the standard of Kirstens however, I can say that I really enjoyed making this and I am very pleased with the end result.

I have coloured Tilda with watercolour pencils and added some stickles to give a bit of bling. The box is made from 2 shades of CS which is from my stash as are the bit lace, the wee gems and the flower. The sentiment is from a free Papermania set and is cut with plain and scalloped circles on the Bug. The top strip on the box has been through the Bug with the Bloom Dots embossing folder. I have used some glue to make the box up but since me and glue don't mix very well, I think I would use tape for the next ones I make (which will be soon, lol). I have also used some of that silicone glue stuff so that the sentiment sits at a bit of an angle and have tried to make Tilda look like she is sitting on the edge of the box.

I think I will fill this with some of those lovely caramel chocolate cup sweets that I seen in M&S the last time I was there. Kim will like them...if they last that long, lol!

I can enter this into 2 chalenges. The first being Creative Card Crew - Favourite Things...I used my fav Tilda stamp. The second is Cute Card Thursday - Teen Terrors...The box has been made for my daughter Kim who is 14 and for once, I think she might actually like it - usually if I say black she says white, lol!

I hope you like it and thanks for taking the time to look.

Please Mr Postman

Good afternoon to you all. I hope you are all well. Quite an uneventful day here today...just some chores in the house again. Managed to make a card last night though.

This one is for a couple of challenges:

1. Creative Card Crew - Strings attached
2. Simon Says Stamp - Animal Antics
3. Allsorts - Christmas Carol or Song Title.

The image is Penny Black - Hand Mailed. It's coloured with watercolour pencils, Cosmic Shimmer paints and has lots of Studio G fine glitter added to the post box. The string tie is parcel ribbon I got from Tesco last Christmas. The sentiment is also from last year - Craftwork Cards. The DPs are Creative Imaginations. I got the fab sketch from Mojo Monday but I was too late to enter. I have chosen Please Mr Postman for my song title for Allsorts.

I hope you like it and thanks for taking the time to look.

Time Consuming Cupcakes

Hi everyone. Had quite a busy day today. First, I got some of the work done which I needed to do in the house then I started to make cupcakes with Wee Steven - Jack was off to his Grandad's for the Celtic game. So, I started tehse cupcakes at about 1pm...he had only been going on about them since 9am - he was so interested in them...He went away to watch Dora and left me to get on with it...'Shout me when they're ready, Mum'. What a cheek, lol!

Anyway, after that, I went to my mum's to get on with a different kind of cupcakes...

Jack has a winter fayre at school on Friday and...like every other year, I get the wonderful job of home baking. So, this year, I wanted to do something a wee bit different. I bought some face cloths from Asda. I folded and rolled them into a cupcake shape. I bought a cupcake template from The Cutting Cafe and made some wrappers. I punched a flower to match and stuck a pin in to hold the flower in place.

So, I have made 2 pink, 2 red and 4 white cakes with different wrappers. Unfortunately, I don't have a photo of them all as I have very kindly left them with my mum so she can wrap them in some clear wrap, lol! I hope she doesn't mind. I only have this photo and it was a nightmare trying to get one because it took me all afternoon to get these right and by the time I was done, it was pitch black outside! I will add a photo of them all when they are all wrapped up.

I think these make another nice wee gift. I got the idea from a similar thing in Boots. They had a small lipgloss stuck in the middle.

Hope you like it and thanks for taking the time to look.

Getting Organised

Hi everyone. I thought I would pop on and show you what Ive been doing. Not much, lol! I have been playing around making a few wee treat boxes. I got these ideas from Splicoast Stampers resources. The backpack one comes as a template and the wee puffy box is done with a CD.

I have used cardstock in two shades of purple for the wee backpack. This is the fav colour of Kim's friend, Amber, so once I've filled it with some Galaxy Minstrels it'll be perfect for her. Two shades of purple eyelets and a purple ribbon.

For the puffy box, I used a sheet of DCWV Christmas Stack and a bit pink ribbon. This one would make a nice wee jewellery box. Maybe holding a wee bracelet or some earrings.

I hope you like them and thanks for taking the time to look.

Christmas Fairy

Hello everyone. What a horribly cold and wet day it is - not a bad day...if your a duck, lol! I hope that everyone is well. I am extremely tired today. That's what happens when you stay up fixing your blog till 1am! I have managed between last night and this morning to get most of my widgets back on and linked up - hooray...I couldn't sleep last night for thinking about it - sad, ehh! I just have to add a few wee bits and pieces and then it is done...only problem now is that I don't like the new template!!!! Well...tough...cos I ain't doing all that blooming work again!

Anyway, this one is for Papertake Weekly where there is another of Dawny P's fabulous sketches. I have used 'Christmas Fairy Holly' digital image from Mo Mannings Digital Pencil..She is coloured with Distress Inks and LOTS of Stickles...neeeded to make it a sparkly dress, lol. The papers are Basic Grey - Figgy Pudding. CS and wee gems are from my stash.

I think this will be my daughter's Christmas card...I think I best start to make some special cards now...The time is fast approaching! I hope she will like it! I think the image is gorgeous and can be used in so many ways.

I hope you like it. Thanks for taking the time to look

HELP

Hi everyone. I am having a bit of a problem here. I thought I was really clever and tried to give myself a new blog template. HA! I must have been having a giraffe! I though I had backed up all my widgets but no....can't get them back! So, please bear with me whilst over the next couple of days I try and sort it all out! I will probably just have to add them all from scratch again. If anyone has any ideas to help it would be greatly appreciated

See you when I sort it, lol

Chocolate Santas

Afternoon everyone. I hope you are all well. I am fine just very cold. I hate the cold, lol! I haven't done very much today. A bit of housework this morning and a then a bit of blogging. Then at lunchtime Wee Steven wanted to go to McDonalds for lunch so...off we went. It wasn't long before I was wishing that I had stayed at home. First, he fell off the chair and landed right on his forehead on the tiled floor. Luckily it wasn't too bad...just a bump then, when we were leaving, Steven rushed forward and said 'I'll helkp you with the door' and grabbed hold of the handle...at the exact same time as a McDoinalds employee grabbed it from the outside and yanked it open...pulling Wee Steven forwards and smashing face first into the handle of the other door! Like I said...we should have stayed at home!

Anyway, enough of our antics for today. This one is for six challenges:

1.) ABC- H is for Hidden
2.) Secret Crafter - Four Seasons
3.) One Stop Craft - Gifts - Bags or Images
4.) Allsorts - Something For a Child
5.) A Spoonful of Sugar - Baby's First Christmas / Preschooler
6.) Tuesday Taggers - Colours (Red,Green&Gold)

Last Christmas, the kids gave me a wee teapot and a tin of tea. So, I have covered the tin with paper inside and out and have added some ribbon with stars on it round the lid and stuck a picture of St Nik in the centre of the top. I have filled the tin with chocolate santas from M&S as this is Wee Steven's favourite at the moment, lol!

Hope you like it. I think he will be quite pleased with it although I don't expect it to last long when he gets his hands on it, lol!
Thanks for taking the time to look

Stampin B's Challenge

Hi everyone. Hope you are all well. Just a quick post before I get ready and settle down for the X Factor. Can't believe they never got rid of those twins last week...never mind...they can't possibly win it.

Anyway, this one is for Stampin B's challenge where the theme this week is 'Not A Card'. I haven't entered here before, I just found it whilst hopping around yesterday. I got this plaque and the wee buttons from the craft fair last month. I have covered it with My Mind's Eye Signature paper. I coloured the wee buttons with felt pens. I covered the letters with stickles and the pictures with Diamond Glaze. Also used Diamond Glaze to stick them all down.

Hope you like it. It was quite simple to make and I think it makes a nice wee decoration and could even be given as a gift.
Thanks for taking the time to look

Lots of Challenges

Hi everyone. Hope you are all well. I have had a very boring week this week. First I have had to wait in four days for workmen to carry out repairs - why can't they just do it properly the first time - or, why can't they just turn up when they are supposed to - grrrr! Anyway, had to take up two pairs of curtains and make a cushion so I've been kept busy whilst waiting, lol! Also, got the chance to make this card today.

I followed Jacqui's tutorial over on Whiff of Joy Inspiratinal and Tutorial Blog. I know my image isn't WOJ but I wanted to make a card in that style. I have coulured my image with distress inks and have added lots of stickles. Have also added white Flower Soft to make the snow at the bottom. The papers are my new Eskimo Kisses from Basic Grey. Had them a while now but not used them yet. The flower is from Craftwork Cards. Used Jacqui's flower method too, lol. Think it makes them stand out so much better. Have added a pearl brad to the centre and added stickles to the end of each petal. The sentiment is from a Habico Clear Stamp Set as are the wee corner stamps which are coloured with watercolour paints and stickles. I have added wee gems to each corner of each piece.
I have taken a few close up pics to give a better view of the card:

Now, I can enter this into quite a few challenges, I think - which is just as well because there are lots I want to enter and not enough time to make a seperate card for each one, unfortunately!
So, here goes:

1. Sketch and Stash - A Sketch and New Papers.
2. Secret Crafter - Easel Card.
3. Charisma Cardz - Merry and Bright.
4. Cute Card Thursday - Glitter me silly.
5. Crazy 4 Chaellenges - Easel Card.
6. Crafty Catz - Going Dottie.
7. Cupcake Craft Challenge - Snow Much Fun.

Phew! Hope I never missed any, lol! A couple of these are new challenges for me but there is lots of inspiration on from the design teams so I will be joining in again.

Hope you like my card. Thanks for looking.

Pink, Black, Lots of Love and A Sketch

Hi everyone. Hope you are all enjoying the fireworks tonight and staying safe. I like to see all the colours and love the noises they make but...I am very nervous when we go out. Especially with Steven because he is quite a handful. We did go out though and the kids all loved them. Then it was home for a cuppa and off to bed. Peace at last, lol!

I have finished my card for Jaimie. If you don't know about the hop that's going on for Jaimie then please read my previous post and join in. I really have enjoyed making this one and am very pleased with the end result. I think it could be because it was for such a worthwhile cause. I will be sending it off in the post tomorrow. I hope it helps a wee bit.

I have used a Sugar Nellie image for this one, Penpal, and coloured her with distress inks. I think she is one of my fav images. I have used Basic Grey papers and cardstock from my stash. The circles were cut with nesties on the Bug. The flowers are paper punched with a retro flower punch and a wee flower brad added to the centre. I have made a wee dangly and added a heart charm. I have added lots of wee gems at all corners and also around the circle.

I would also like to enter this into the challenge over at Spoonful of Sugar since I followed the fantastic sketch by Sonja.

I hope you like it. Thanks for taking the time to look. Please be sure and check out my previous post and help send some love and hope to Jaimie.

Spread The Love for Jaimie

Hello everyone. I hope that you are all well. I do not have a card to show at the moment. I am working on one and its very nearly done but Wee Steven isn't feeling very well and he isn't settling to sleep very well so...right now, I am lying in bed in the dark with the laptop so that I can stay beside him and also tell you about a fantastic Blog Hope that is going on at the moment.

Jaimie is an 11 year old girl from New Hampshire who has suffered terribly at the hands of four youths as part of a random act of violence. If you go HERE you will read Jamies story.

The blog hop has been organised by Denise and Erin and there are over 60 people involved. The aim is to have as many people as possible make a card and send it to Jaimie and her father in the hope that we can show them a small amount of hope for the future. There are some prizes on offer at the end of the hop however, I am sure that after reading this news, Nobody will need any encouragement at all to join in and make a card.

This is a terrible thing to happen to anyone and this child will need all the love she can get at the moment. I have been deeply touched by Jaimies story, every time I think of it, I get a lump in my throat. I hope that people will take the time to stop and think for a moment about this child and her father. Please make a card for Jaimie and send her some love and hope for the future.

Hopefully, together, we can show her that not everyone is bad.

If you want to read Jaimies story please go HERE.
If you want to participate in the blog hop, please start at Katharina's blog HERE.

Thank you for taking the time to read this post, I will post my card as soon as I can get it finished.

Hugs
