Just Magnolia - Week 11

Hello again everyone. I am back. I have finally managed to finish my card for the Just Magnolia challenge - a fantastic sketch from Bev. It was supposed to be for 2 challenges but I never got it done in time for Creative Card Crew (whatever the weather) so it's only for one now, lol! It also would have been done at lunch today if I hadn't decided to make a wee charm thingy to go on it (this idea came from making earrings all weekend. You can see them if you scroll down to the post below). This of course meant that I had to visit a craft shop, lol!

Anyway, less of the nonsense and onto the important things. The image is an old Tilda I've had for ages and is coloured with Faber-Castelle watercolour pencils. Cut the circle on the Bug with Nesties. The frame is cut the same way - just used two sizes of nesties. The border strips are punched with a Fiskars punch. The flowers are all paper from Craftwork Cards punched with three different sized daisy punches. Added a spacer and brad from my stash. The text is from a Papermania set I got free on the Docrafts magazine (last issue). For mcharm, I have used 3 light pink, 3 darker pink and 1 green bead - green one is a wee bit bigger than the rest. I put these on a pin and attached the pin to a chain, then attached the chain to the spacer.

I think that's it. Hope you like it

Penny Black Saturday Challenge,Friday Sketchers and a bit of a rant!

Hi everyone! Hope you are all well. This card is for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge which is Birthday Celebrations and for Friday Sketchers #56 which is a fab sketch by a new DT Member, Jeanette. And, I'd also like to add this to the Simon Says Challenge which is to make a birthday card or celebration card since they are celebrating their birthday too. It's their birthday this week and they have organised a fabulous party. Each member of the DT has put together a surprise candy and the challenge has an amazing list of prizes too. To be in with a chance of winning, you must make something for a celebration and post it on your blog. You must then post a comment with a link to your project on the challenge blog. To enter the DT surprise candies you must visit each DT members blog and leave a comment with a link to your creation. So be quick and join in the fun. You can find all the details over on the blog HERE!

My image is coloured with watercolour pencils and cut with oval nesties on the Bug. The papers are My Mind's Eye. They are the Pretty Please range - 'Blossoms' and 'Pink Floral'. The ribbon is Anita's and the brads are from my stash. The sentiment is Hampton Arts again. The flower has been cut on the Bug with a Little Claire's Die. And, obviously, I've followed the sketch.

I've had a very nice but busy week so far. My mum is on holiday this week so we have been out and about whilst the kids have been at school. On Monday, we went to Perth to Stampaholics then onto Linlithgow for lunch and the park with Wee Steven. On Tuesday, we went to Blantyre to Crafts at Home. Both visits were very nice and totally stress free. It was so long since we had been to Blantyre that we spent ages chatting with the staff which took up most of the day, lol. It was great fun though! Today we went to Hobbycraft, or Hobbycrap as Dawny P would say, lol because I wanted something to alter. I did get a wee bag to alter and a few more new watercolour pencils but I was absolutely disgusted with the prices. There were of course things that weren't too badly priced. However, some of the K&Co 3D Embellies were about £6 or £7 when they are only priced at £4 in other places. There was a Cuttlebug Die Set which was priced at £14.99 in Crafts at Home yesterday. In Hobbycrap today... £21.49. Can you believe it?! My jaw nearly hit the deck I can tell you. I think it's absolutely disgusting that they are allowed to get away with this.

Anyway, enough of my moaning. Off to do the dishes now. Should be back tomorrow with another card.

Hope you like this one

The Sugar Bowl - Challenge #10

Hello everyone. Hope your are all well. This card is for The Sugar Bowl Challenge #10 which is a sketch designed by Marlene. This was a great sketch to work with. In fact, over the course of the weekend all the family will have done it, lol! I decided I wanted to use 'Hamish Fixin' (coloured with Distress Inks) by Sugar Nellie for this one and my new papers which are from Nitwit Collections - Assembly Too Selection.

The challenge also has a 'Please Include' and this week it was buttons. So, off I went to B&Q this afternoon and bought these tiny wee nuts to add to each corner of my image. And, I also cut out some small circles, pushed a couple of holes through them with a pin and threaded some blue thread through for 'proper' buttons. The greeting was done on the pc and circles cut with nesties on the bug.

For the inside, I decided I wanted a large nut to match the design on the front. I drew one myself and the circle is meant to be a screw head, lol!

Hope you like it. I loved making it - was great fun to make and I am really pleased with the way it has turned out.

Baby Boy Card

Hi! Just a quick post to show a card I made for a my mums neighbour who has had a baby boy.

I have used papers and a decoupage image that I bought in Perth ages ago. I think it is from Create and Craft but not positive. I started to use the sketch from last weeks Sketch Saturday but mucked it up, lol! Added some gems and ribbon from my stash.

On the inside, a scrap of paper punched with a punch from Hobbycraft and some Label Nesties. Added a greeting and a small image from the book I used.

Hope you like it

Creative Card Crew Challenge 10 - Minimal

Hi everyone! Looks like it might be a bit nicer outside today - hopefully! Hope everyone is well. This card is for the Creative Card Crew Challenge 10 which is 'Minimal'. I made the card for my daughters friends mum. She is getting married today.

I have ran a piece of card through the bug with the textile folder. I added four wee gems to the corners of the piece. I put this on my base card and sat it to the right so that I could tie a bit ribbon round and not cover any of the embossed effect. I added a white flower with beady bits on at the bottom left of the card. I cut 2 different sized Labels Nestie shapes and mounted together onto foam pads and printed the names and date of the wedding onto this using the pc. The ribbon and flower are from Hobbycraft and gems from my stash.

On the inside, a piece of vellum with wedding bells on it. I just pushed this under the ribbon to hold it as I didn't want to be able to see any tape or dots, etc.

Hope you like it.

Hugs

Sketch Saturday Week 49

Hi everyone! Phew what a job to get this one finished in time! Not that it took long to make but I didn't start it till about 3ish this afternoon and then had to take photos and deliver it to my sister for her birthday card from the kids before I could het a chance to post it, lol!

Anyway, another fantastic sketch over at Sketch Saturday this week and I had great fun making this one. A really nice and simple sketch to follow and a fantastic result - even if I do say so myself, lol!

The image is one of my new Daisy and Dandelion Stamps. Got these a while back but this is the first time I've used any of them. I think these ones are 'Candyfloss and Marshmallow' and coloured with just one watercolour pencil and one Twinkling H2O. The papers are Basic Grey 'Bittersweet'. The cardstock is from my stash and the ribbon is from my mums stash, lol! Have used a Fiskars Border punch on the pink piece and the flowers are punched with brads in the middle.

For the inside, I have used the flower stamp from the same stamp set and the other rabbit stamp in the centre on the left side. On the right side, some more design paper and one of the greetings from the stamp set. All the circles and scalloped circles are cut with Nesties on the Bug.

I am really plaesed with the way this one turned out. Hope you like it. Any comments are greatly appreciated

One Card - Three Challenges!

Penny Black Saturday, Cute Card Thursday and Papertake Weekly!
Hello everyone. At last, I have a card! This card was made for my neice, who is 2 today. The base card is a square Anita's one, covered with 'Provence Polka' from The Paper Company. The strip of CS down the side is from my stash and has been run through the Bug with the 'Spots & Dots' embossing folder. The image is, I think, Penny Black which I received from Josianne and is coloured with the Watercolour pencils and Twinkling H2Os I got for Christmas. It is matted onto CS from my stash and cut with my new circle nesties in the Bug. The greeting is from Craftwork Cards and the small flowers are from WH Smith with adhesive gems from Dovecraft added to the middle.

I am making this card my entry into 3 challenges as it covers them also.

The first is Penny Black Saturday Challenge, which i haven't entered before. This one was to use 'embossing' and I have done with the strip down the side of the card. I have also embossed the flowers in a way too.
The second is the Cute Card Thursday Challenge, again, one I haven't entered before. This one was to use any 'new craft goodies you received for Christmas'. I hae used my watercolour pencils, twinkling H2O's and my classic and scalloped circle nesties.
And, finally, the third is the Papertake Weekly Challenge. This week, the theme is to use 'Spots'. I have used a spotty background paper, circle nesties and spots and dots embossing folder. The adhesive gems in the middle of the flowers are also spots.

I have also used my new stamp which I got from Ebay on the back of my card. You can get the link for the stamp from Bev's blog here. Thanks very much, Bev!

Anyway, I am quite pleased with this card and now I need to go and buy a birthday present. Why do I always leave everything to the last minut lol?!

Sketch #28 - Sketch Saturday

Todays card is my entry to Sketch Saturday Challenge #28. A gorgeous sketch from Mariska. I started with square base card and covered one half with 'Baby Powder - Hiccups' and the other half with 'Baby Powder - Tiny Tantrum' both by Imaginisce. I used some white ric-rac to cover the join. The image is Forever Friends coloured with inktense pencils and cut with oval nesties in the bug. This is mounted onto pink card and stuck to base card with foam pads. The flowers are from WH Smith, as are the brads. The sentiment is from a K&Co kit my mum got from QVC as a gift for me about 3 years ago, I think. This is fixed to card with eyelets from my stash. Really enjoyed making this card. I will probably use this sketch lots in the future.

WHIFF OF JOY DESIGN TEAM CALL

At last I have used my new stamps. This one, Lizzie with muff, is my favourite. I thought I would enter the Whiff of Joy Design Team Call. Katharina is looking for a guest designer. You need to make a card using the sketch and 1 Whiff of Joy stamp to enter. Not that I expect to win but I thought I would have a wee go anyway. I have colored the image with water colour pencils and cut around her. I next ran a small piece of white card through the bug with the snowflakes embossing folder. I attached Lizzie to this and mounted it onto a shiny grey and then black card. The strip across the bottom is DCWV The Christmas Stack, as is the base paper, and the strip down the side is pink card put in the bug with swiss dots folder. The greeting is from a sheet I got last year. The flowers are Paper Cellar MIY Range with a pink brad from my stash. So, I will now keep my fingers crossed.

Wedding Card

This card is one I was asked to make. The image is Forever Friends coloured with inktense and watercolour pencils, with some stickles added. It was mounted onto silver mirror card and the corners were rounded with a punch. The wording is done with silver peel-offs on white card mounted same as image with corners rounded again. Both of these are mounted onto a square of backing paper with words on (devotion;love;passion;etc) with a piece of ribbon on that says 'to love and to cherish'. The paper is slightly smaller than the base card and I have cut two corners of silver mirror card on the bug and finished off with these. Unfortunately the paper was stuck to the card before I checked the name of it lol.

I hope the girl who wanted it likes it!

Sketch Challenge SK112208

SKETCH CHALLENGE SK112208

I have been getting lost on the web again and I have just found the Paper Craft Planet site. I loved this sketch. It was so simple to work with and still managed to produce a lovely result. Since I liked the result I thought I would take part in the sketch challenge.

I started with a white, square card which I covered with Snowy Jo - Jingle Baubles paper by 'imaginisce'. Next, I cut a rectangle of Snowy Jo - Snow Soiree paper and fixed this across the top half of the card. The image is 'Christmas Kisses' designed by Elisabeth Bell for Sugar Nellie Stamps. As always, it is coloured with inktense pencils. I cut this with my oval nesties in the bug. The scalloped oval behind the image is the largest of the set and I cut 2 halves of the red and green sheets of card from the DCWV Christmas Cardstock Stack. I tied some sparkly, silver trim from Papermania round the middle and mounted the ovals onto foam pads. The small greeting was one from my stash.

Sketch Saturday Challenge #25

This card is my entry for Sketch Saturday Challenge #25. This was a brilliant sketch and I loved it. I will probably be using it a fair bit in the future. Really enjoyed making this card and I was quite pleased with the end result. I am going to give this to my youngest son. Started with a square base card and covered with green paper from Paper Adventures, added two strips across top and bottom with Spotty paper from Paper Adventures. These were from a QVC kit a couple of years ago so I am not sure what they are called. Ran a strip of white card through the bug with the snowflakes embossing folder and fixed down the side. The image is a new Sugar Nellie one called 'Trimming the Tree', which was designed by Elisabeth Bell. I coloured it with inktense pencils and mounted onto red card. I added four green brads from my stash to the corners. The round greeting is from Craftwork Cards and the small square greeting was done on the pc. All corners were rounded with a punch.

Another card for Grandad

This is the card that I made for the kids to give my dad for his birthday. It's more of a younger persons image but never mind. I have started with a white, square base card. The image is coloured with usual inktense pencils and watered. It's then mounted onto some blue card and the corners rounded. I mounted this onto a white sheet which I ran through the bug using the music embossing folder and mounted onto blue card again. I stuck it all onto base card and added some black music notes which were cut with the bug and music dies.

Tilda & co Challenge

This card is for the Tilda & Co challenge 38 which is a sketch challenge. Since I didn't have a lot of time, this is a very quick card. Covered base card with some blue snowflake/star paper (not sure which). Coloured tilda image with inktense pencils and mounted onto blue card and paper which were cut with oval nesties in my cuttlebug. Tied some blue organza ribbon down the side to finish off.
