I thought you might like to see the gifts I made for Kim's teachers at the end of term. She asked if I could make something for the teachers who went to Skye with them. She asked me at tea time on the Monday when school finished on the Tuesday, I must add!!
So, after a bit of blog hopping, I came across a brilliant gift idea posted on WOJ tutorial blog by Katharina. So, I gave it a shot and here's the end results.
Please excuse the horrendous photos. I was up till 1am making these and had to take the photos before Kim left for school at 8am.
Thanks for taking the time to look

Such a gorgeous, thoughtful gift.
Hello everyone. I hope everyone is well and that you all had a lovely Christmas. I had a really nice time. I go to my mums for Christmas dinner every year. I don't know if I'll ever be brave enough to attempt to cook it myself, lol. So, after the kids had opened all their presents, we went down to see what Santa had left at Grannys. Next, it was off to see Grandad and Granny and then after that it was off to my dads.
The kids all got everything they had asked for as did all the adults and a wonderful time was had by all as well as all the over indulging and not being able to move for fear of bursting, lol.
There was one gift this year that was very special and that was a gorgeous quilt that my sister had been making for my mum. I don't know who was more excited about it, me or my sister, lol. I knew my mum would love it because of all the hard work and love that had gone into hand stitching it. It was also proving quite a difficult task as she still lives at home and could only do it when mum wasn't around. However, finish it she did (even staying up till 5am on Christmas morning) and it was absolutely gorgeous! My mum couldn't believe her eyes...and neither could I because she had also made one for me!!!
I have taken a photo of my one (unfortunately, I can't get a decent photo of the full thing)and will take one of my mums next time I visit. I hope my sister and my mum know how much this quilt means to me and how much I appreciate it.
Thanks for taking the time to look

They are both beautiful and it is such a pleasure to know that someone has taken all that time and effort to make something as special as that for you. And, it fits my bed beautifully!

2 Red Bananas
Hi everyone. Still enjoying this wonderful snow. I was feeling quite pleased with myself yesterday when I thought I was organised. I still have to buy a few things and also need to do a fod shopping and...wrap whats left and the things I buy tomorrow AND...do all the housework ready for the big mans visit. As always, I am getting close to panic mode...or I would be if I wasn't so blooming tired, lol!
This card is one of a batch. I needed tomake a bundle of quick cards on Monday for posting so I used this swirly tree stamp from Dimension Forth. I stamped it in clear ink and sprinkled with embossing powder then heat embossed. The papers are K&Co mat stack from last year. The mirror card is from my stash. The sentiment is also heat embossed. The cards were done in red, gold and silver.
I am entering this into the 2 Red Bananas challenge where it's an inspirational challenge this week and the inspiration is a tree.
Thanks for taking the time to look.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...
Everywhere we go!!! Isn't this weather absolutely glorious? I love it. Don't like driving in it much but I love to look at it...looks so fresh and clean. The kids love it too. I hope it stays like this right through till Friday...That would be a wonderful Christmas present. Talking of which...I am nearly organised!! Yes, shock/horror...I spent most of today wrapping up and for the first time ever, I am nearly done. Still a few bits and pieces to buy and a couple of others to wrap but then that's it...Just the cards to make now, lol!
This card is for my daughter since she managed to see the first one I made her. If she sees this one...tough, lol! I have used the fantastic sketch over at Mojo Monday. Tilda is one I received in a RAK (thank you) and is coloured with watercolour pencils with some stickles added to her wings. The papers are DCWV. CS and ribbon are from my stash. The circles are cut with nesties on the Bug and the plain circle has been put through with Christmas Stars embossing folder and then I coloured the stars with watercolour pencils. The punch used is Martha Stewart Lace Doily again. The snowflake has been cut on the bug too.
Thanks for taking the time to look. I am off to bed now - have quite a sore throat and am shattered.

Passion for Promarkers
Hi everybody. Still lots of lovely snow here in Edinburgh. We went out to Blantyre this afternoon to visit our favourite craft shop - Craft at Home. Had a really nice afternoon but it snowed again while we were there and it took absolutely ages to do what would normally be a 45 minute journey home. Never mind...got some lovely bits and pieces, another couple of Christmas presents and also had a lovely blether, lol. I also got the safe return of my daughter last night which was lovely as I had really missed her a lot...and yes, you've guessed it - she was driving me crazy today, lol. It's nice to see that she's not changed too much ;o)
Anyway, enough blethering done for today so...this has been made for the Passion for Promarkers challenge where the challenge is running untill 5th January and we are being asked to make "anything but a card - with a Christmas/New Year theme and also for the Allsorts challenge where the theme is also "Anything but a card". So, I have altered a diary which I picked up for 99p a while back. I thought it was going to be one of those buys that I never normally get round to doing but...I've done it. lol.
The image is a Sugar Nellie one and is, of course, coloured with promarkers - quite obvious considering the challenge it's for, lol. The ovals are cut with nesties on the Bug. The design paper is from a Christmas kit that I got as a present a couple of years back. I have added stickles to the fur on Santa's coat and hat and also to his holly. The holly in the top corner was done using the tutorial on the WOJ inspirations and tutorials blog.
I think thats every thing, although I have now most likely forgtten something. Thanks fortaking the time to look.

Good morning everyone. I hope you are all well. Is anybody ready for Christmas yet? I have still got a few bits and pieces to buy but I have nothing at all wrapped up yet, lol. I haven't even made my cards yet!!! I have been busy though...I have six teachers to give presents to this year so I thought I would make some gifts for the kids to give them as I think it just gets so expensive otherwise. And, I think it's always nice to get something that somebody has taken the time to make for you.
So, these are for Steven's nursery teachers, Mrs Dunn, Mrs Bell and Mrs Donoghue. I have made them all the sam just using different papers.
The bags are white paper bags and have been covered with My Minds Eye Christmas Signature papers. The ribbon is Anitas and the tag is stamnped with a clear pad and then sprinkled with silver embossing powder and heat embossed. The swirly tree stamp is from Dimension Forth. The chocolate wrappers and post-it note holders are papers from Imaginisce. The stamps used on these are also Imaginisce - Snag 'em stamps. These are coloured with watercolour pencils and stickled. I covered the wee pencils with the same paper as the post-it holders. The stamps are the same ones I made for the school fair a few posts back.
I would like to enter these into 4 challenges:
1. Sophisticats - Christmas/anything goes;
2. Simon Says - Merry Christmas;
3. Stamp with fun - Little Presents;
4. Creative Card Crew - Anything goes.
Thanks for taking the time to look. I really appreciate any comments you may leave - lets me know you have visited and means I can return the visit.

First Christmas Party
Hello everybody. I just wanted to do a quick post tonight to show off some pics of Wee Steven ready to go to his first Christmas Party at the nursery. Up until Sunday, he wouldn't go anywhere near Santa but...with a wee bit gentle persuasion and holding tight to Jack's hand...he went in to see him. Today at the party though, Santa walks across the room and Steven hides his eyes with his hands, lol...if only I had caught that with the camera. He did manage to go up and get his present...even if it was very quickly.
Here he is posing for the camera...

Jolly Old St Nick
Hello everybody. Today I can finally tell you all my good news...A few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to win the challenge over at Tuesday Taggers and today...I am very pleased to join them as a guest designer for this week's challenge where the theme is...Jolly Old St Nick....so anything to do with Father Christmas.
I have made a card for this as I still have so many to make...I can see me having to buy them this year! I used the 'All I Want' digi image by Mo Manning. It's been coloured with inktense and watercolour pencils and had some stickles added too. I used cardstock from my stash. The papers are Basic Grey Wassail. The flowers are punched with retro and daisy punches and brads from my stash added to the middle. The punched piece down the side is Martha Stewart Lace Doily. The wee red brads are Papermania.
I think that's about it. I can't believe how much more difficult it is trying to make a card as a Guest Designer to making one just for fun. Thank you once again to Tuesday Taggers for this and thanks for taking the time to look.

I've been busy...
Hi everyone. I have just popped on to tell you all about what I have been doing today. My neighbours dog has delivered her first litter of pups today. So...I have spent the day lying on the floor, encouraging her and petting her. There were 8 altogether. Sadly, 2 didn't make it but the other six were ok. She has cleaned them all up and nursed them all so it looks like she is going to be ok with them. They are absolutely gorgeous...small enough to fit along the length of my hand. Unfortunately, I don't have any photos to show as my daughter has pinched my camera to take away with her and the other camera I've got isn't that great...as you'lll see in tomorrow's post, lol.
So, I haven't been sitting doing nothing...I've been playing vet/midwife.
I'll be back tomorrow with some more nice news

Hi everyone.
I hope you are all well. This weekend has been hectic. My daughter, Kimberley has been chosen, along with 12 others from the school, to take part in a leadership week in Skye. I am absolutely delighted for her and so proud of her. I really hope she enjoys herself and gives everyhting she's got and also gets a great deal out of it. So...that also means that we are without our usual moody teenager for the week...and it is sooo quiet, lol.
On another note, the winner is.....Geordie Joe!!! YES!!! I have been quite disappointed with the show this year because firstly...Those twins were awful...Then, Jamie got the boot...Next, it was Daniel and... Poor Stacey. However, I really liked Joe (did like Olly to) but really thought that Joe was the better of the two and I am delighted that he won.
And, lastly, I have one other exciting piece of news but...you will have to wait till Tuesday for it, LOL! Even though I am dying to tell you all!
Sorry I don't have anything to show tonight...too busy with the XFactor!

A Mad Dash 4 It
Hi everyone. I hope you are all well. It has been really strange round here recently...I don't seem to have done very much but never seem to have had two minutes to myself, lol! It has taken me all week to make this one card and I don't even think I'll make it on time!
I have made this card following the fantastic sketch over on Sketch Saturday. The image is one of Mo's digi images called Siku and Shiya. I try not to visit Mo too often because her images are absolutely fantastic and I could quite easily get myself into trouble with the shopping cart, lol! I have coloured it with watercolour pencils and Cosmic Shimmer watercolour paints. The pearlised card for matting and layering are from my stash as are the sparkly flowers, brad and ribbon - which has 'Let it snow' printed on. The strip of card along the centre behind the ribbon has been put through the Bug with the Snowflakes embossing folder and then sanded to show the core colour. The charm is from The Craft Tutor. The sentiment is Cosmo Cricket 'Winter Wonderland' rub-ons. The design paper is 'Snowflake Diamond' by The Paper Company.
I have also made a wee post it note holder to match the card. I have used the same papers and added some wee pearls to the corners. Bit blue ribbon from my stash. There is a tutorial HERE.
I am entering this card into the following challenges:
1. Sketch Saturday - Sketch;
2. Creatilicious - Snowflakes and Glitter;
3. Crafty Cardmakers - Alternative Christmas;
4. Papertake Weekly - Red and Green should not be seen;
5. Simon Says - Let it Snow;
6. Stamp Something - Winter Wonderland;
7. Stamping for the Weekend - Blue and Brown;
8. Secret Crafter - Matching Set.
I hope you like it and that I'm not too late for any of the challenges...been a crazy week.
Thanks for taking the time to look

An Award
Hello everyone. I hope you are all well and getting organised for the jolly wee chubby mans visit! I am, as always...NOT, lol! No, actually, this year I am not bad on the shopping side of things but I haven't made my cards yet and I haven't got enough treat bags or boxes made and...I certainly don't have any wrapping done yet. I was meant to be getting the tree done this weekend but, am off shopping tomorrow and it's still in the attic. Never mind, I'll get there.
Anyway, I was very honoured to have received this award from the wonderful Rachel. Rachel makes the most gorgeous cards and she is only 14 years old. I love it when young people put their talents to good use. You really must visit Rachels blog if you haven't already.

So, the rules of this award are that you should copy it to your blog - done that, link back to the person you received it from - done that, you must state 7 interesting facts about yourself - really difficult...I am an extremely boring person and pass it on to seven other bloggers who you think deserve it.
Now, as I said, I love to receive these...It makes it all worthwhile to know that someone enjoys seeing your creations...However, I am useless at doing these things but...I'll give it a try.
1. I love to read - anything at all - and must read every night before I go to sleep.
2. I am totally addicted to blog hopping - it's getting serious!
3. I love to make boxes and bags and things.
4. I hate to exercise.
5. I am the least patient person I know.
6. I am the world's worst singer - well, after John and Edward...I'm not sure!
7. I am a very uninteresting person, lol.
Told you...VERY boring...Thank goodness for my crafting, ehh! Now, to pass this to seven people. So...
1. Kirsten
2. Jacqui
3. Katharina
4. Debbie
5. Lorraine
6. Kath
7. Mandy
Thank you for this, Rachel.

Jack's Card
Hi everyone. This is just a quick post. Jack has started making his Christmas cards and would like to enter this one into the Crafty Monkeys challenge this month where the theme is 'Christmas'.
This is what Jack says:
I covered my card with some of my Gran's papers and used a Nitwits download and added my Gran's white flower soft to the roof, window sills, the chimney and also to the ground. I added a sentiment at the bottom and a ribbon to the side. This is for my teacher, Miss Flatman. I think she will say 'Fantastic' because she always says that. Thank you for looking.
Brilliant card, don't you think?
Thanks for taking the time to look.

Christmas DVD Holder
Hello eveyone. I hope you are all well. Today, I have an hour to myself as I am trying to settle Wee Steven back into nursery after him being really upset and not wanting to go for ages...So, I thought about it long and hard and came to the conclusion that he doesn't like it because he can't get away with murder, lol...I thought it would be better if he went back and therefore...back to the settling in stage so, fingers crossed.
Anyway, today I have a project to show which I have made for Jack. I first seen this on Rach's blog and I think she bought a template for it but I tried it without the template and thought it wasn't too bad. I have used a Santa stamp by Sugar Nellie and coloured him with Promarkers. He also has white Flower Soft round his hat and coat and stickles for his beard and moustache. I cut the oval and scalloped oval on the Bug with Nesties. The CS is from my stash as is the paper and ribbons.
Chocolate and sticky lollies in the other.
On the inside, I have added a piece of card to write a greeting on and used some stamps to decorate it. This is obviously not the DVD I am going to give to Jack,lol!
I can enter this into four challenges:
1. Cupcake Craft - Red & Green;
2. Stamp with Fun - Christmas;
3. Creative Card Crew - Christmas.
4. 2RedBananas - Christmas or Winter.
Thank for taking the time to look.
